Disease Feature,Therapeutic Fundamental Progress And Clinical Outcome Summary For Posterior Meniscal Root Tears

Purpose The medial meniscus posterior root tear(MMPRT)could lead to loss of hoop tension and results in a biomechanical condition much like total meniscectomy.The levels of decreased the contact area and increased contact pressure is similar and would accelerat joint degeneration.So we synthesised and analysised series of report to idenitify the effect of meniscectomy and repair to MMPRT.Methods A literature search was performed using MED-LINE/PubMed,EMBASE and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases.The randomized controlled trials(RCT)comparising of pre-and postoperation outcomes for MMPRT menisectomy or repair were included into research.Data were extracted from the included studies after quality evaluation according to Cochrane system evaluation method.Meta-analysis was performed with RevMan 5.1 software,evidence quality and recommendation level was evaluated with GRADE system.The score criteria for pre-and postoperation included the Lysholm score,meniscal extrusion(mm),the progression of Kellgren-Lawrence(K-L)grade,HSS score.Rusults Postoperation Lysholm added by 30.51[26.94,34.07],P<0.01 in total.The postoperation IIKDC had been greatly improved by 32.23[27.43,37.03],P<0.01.Postoperative improved HSS score was 33.90[27.59,40.20],P<0.01.There was no progression of K-L grade.Any conlusion for Meniscus Extrusion couldn't be drawed because origin for extremely heterogeneity among groups couldn't be find.Most Complete Healing Rate was bigger than 60 percent but the case number in each study was few even 5 of them lessing than 20.Conclusions The MMPRT repair operaition could improve postoperational knee function with improved Lysholm,IKDC and HSS Score and inhibit the progression of osteoarthritis.While whether the meniscal ring tension can be reconstructed is unclear.Level of evidence Level IV...
