Objective This study aimed to understand the situation of AIDS knowledge,attitude and practice(KAP),willingness to take HIV test and participation of publicity service among migrants working in manufacture enterprises in Shenzhen,and to identify the factors for KAP and willingness to test,and to explore the barriers to AIDS education and intervention,so as to provide scientific evidence for AIDS prevention and control strategy among this population.Method A stratified cluster random sampling method was used for this investigation.The respondents were invited to complete an electronic questionnaire through the tablet PC.The data collected including sociodemographic characteristics,AIDS-related knowledge,AIDS-related attitudes,sexual behaviors,willingness to test for HIV and participation in publicity interventions.The data collected from questionnaire was imported to Excel for data cleaning.SPSS21.0 was used for statistical analysis.Enumeration data were calculated using percentage or rate.Chi-squared test or Fisher's exact test were used for comparison.Chi-square segmentation was used for compare groups in pairs,and logistic regression was used for multivariate analysis.Results1.The socio-demographic characteristics of the participants were as following: 60.13% of the participants were male,79.87% were 20-30 years old,and 53.08% were married.2.In general,77.36% of the migrants working in manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen had a good level of AIDS-related knowledge was,whereas they have a low level of knowledge on non-transmission pathways(especially,only 39.62% of have correct answer to the question on “whether mosquito bites can transmit HIV”).Educational level and marital status were the significant factors of AIDS-related knowledge(P<0.05).3.Only 31.32% of the participants were willing to work with HIV/AIDS patients,25.53% were willing to eat with HIV/AIDS patients.Among the three questions about AIDS-related attitudes(“sympathy or help with HIV infection/ADIS patience”,“eat with AIDS patient”,“not transmit to others”),there is a significant association between HIV/AIDS knowledge and the AIDSrelated attitude(P<0.05).4.The occurrence rate of risky sexual behaviors among the participants was 9.69%.The risky sexual behavior including casual sexual behaviors(77.92%),commercial sexual behaviors(15.58%),and MSM(15.58%).The male participants who were older years old,or using APP to find sex partner,or unwilling to eat with HIV-infected/AIDS patients had higher chance of risky sexual behavior(P<0.05).The female participants who were minority or using APP to find sex partner had higher chance of risky sexual behavior(P<0.05).5.73.33% of the migrants working in manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen reported that they would actively seeking HIV testing if they perceived the risk of HIV infection.The younger,those with more knowledge about HIV/AIDS,those having heard of VCT was more inclined to actively seek HIV testing(P<0.05).6.TV/broadcast,flyers,Internet/smart phones are the main sources to get AIDS-related knowledge among the migrant working in manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen.Those acquired AIDS-related knowledge through leaflets/folders,Internet/smart phones,have a higher level of AIDS-related knowledge(P<0.05).76.98% of the participants had received the AIDS-related education and intervention programs.49.43% of respondents did not participate in any education or interventions in the enterprises.Conclusion1.The discrimination attitude towards AIDS is quite common among the migrants working in manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen.Although the level of AIDS-related knowledge is relatively high,their knowledge is incomprehensive,and showed “disunity of knowledge,attitude and practice”.2.The incidence of AIDS-related high-risk behavior among migrants of manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen is relatively high,while the condom use rate is low.Thus,strengthened efforts on education and intervention are needed to address these problems.3.The migrant populations of manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen had very limited knowledge on VCT testing services,it is imperative to improve their willingness to take HIV testing at VCT.4.Strengthened efforts are required to elevate knowledge on AIDS other than transmission route,testing services,and the importance of condoms use among migrants of manufacturing enterprise in Shenzhen,through the combination of new media publicity and traditional propaganda modes as well as higher frequency of interventions,and finally to achieve effective and sustainable propaganda target.
