Objective: To investigate the correlation between the expression of Mfn2 and the clinicopathological parameters and prognosis in breast cancer patients.Methods: A total of 126 patients with breast invasive ductal carcinoma diagnosed from January Fourth to April 2008 from the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University were enrolled.All patients underwent radical surgery and standardized systemic treatment to ensure the integrity of pathological data.The clinical pathological features of the patients were retrospectively analyzed,including lymph node metastasis,age,tumor size,pathological type,tumor immunohistochemical typing,prognosis;detection of Mfn2 in tumor tissues of breast cancer patients by immunohistochemistry Expression,to explore its relationship with the general pathological data and prognosis of breast cancer patients.Result:1.126 patients with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast,95 patients aged <60 years,43 positive for Mfn2,positive expression rate 45.26%;31 persons aged ?60 years old,15 cases with Mfn2 positive expression,positive expression rate 48.39%.The positive expression of Mfn2 in breast invasive ductal carcinoma tissues was not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).2.Of the 126 patients with breast invasive ductal carcinoma,65 had tumor diameter ? 2 cm,Mfn2 positive expression in 33 cases,positive expression rate was 50.77%;57 tumors were > 2 cm and ? 5 cm,Mfn2 was positively expressed in 23 cases,positive expression rate 40.35%;4 cases of tumor diameter> 5cm,Mfn2 positive expression in 2 cases,the positive expression rate was 50%.The positive expression of Mfn2 in breast invasive ductal carcinoma tissues was not significantly different between ?2cm,>2cm and ?5cm and >5cm(P>0.05).3.Of the 126 patients with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast,46 were positive for Mfn2 expression in the tumor staging 0-II group,the positive expression rate was 52.27%;in the 38 patients with stage III-IV,12 cases were positive for Mfn2 positive.The expression rate was 31.58%,and the positive expression was statistically different(P=0.035<0.05).4.There were 62 cases of lymph node metastasis in 126 patients with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast,of which 35 cases were positive for Mfn2,and the positive rate was 56.45%.There were 64 cases with lymph node metastasis,of which 23 cases were positive for Mfn2.35.94,there was a statistical difference(P=0.016<0.05).5.126 cases of breast invasive ductal carcinoma were selected,46 cases of Mfn2 positive expression in Luminal type 88 group,the positive expression rate was 52.27%;in the case of Her2 overexpression type,Mfn2 was positively expressed in 6 cases,the positive expression rate was 50%.There were 6 cases of Mfn2 positive expression in 26 cases of Sanyin type,and the positive expression rate was 23.08%.The positive expression rate of Mfn2 was higher in Luminal type(including LuminalA and LuminalB)and Her2 overexpression type,but lower than that in other two types,the difference was statistically significant(P=0.031<0.05).).6.Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the disease-free survival(DFS)of the Mfn2-positive group was higher than that of the Mfn2-negative group,and there was a statistical difference between the two groups(Plog-rank=0.036<0.05).The Mfn2 negative group survived for 5 years with a total of 49 patients,and the 5-year survival rate was 72.06%.The Mfn2 positive group survived a total of 53 years in 5 years,and the 5-year survival rate was 91.38%.The overall survival(OS)of the Mfn2-positive group was significantly better than that of the Mfn2-negative group,and there was a statistical difference between the two groups(Plog-rank=0.008<0.05).Conclusion: Mfn2 is closely related to the development of cancer.High expression of Mfn2 can significantly inhibit the development of tumor.In breast invasive ductal carcinoma,the expression of Mfn2 has no significant correlation with age and tumor size,but with the increase of tumor stage.And lymph node metastasis,Mfn2 expression showed a decreasing trend;Mfn2 expression in triple-negative breast cancer was significantly lower than other molecular types.In the analysis of clinical prognosis,the expression of Mfn2 can determine the prognosis of invasive ductal carcinoma.Therefore,Mfn2 may be an important indicator for the diagnosis and prognosis of breast invasive ductal carcinoma,and has good clinical guiding significance.
