Objective: The SYNTAX score is a tool that systematically scores the complexity of coronary artery disease in combination with coronary angiography results. The red blood cell volume distribution width is a strong predictor of various acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases. However, there is little research between red blood cell volume distribution width and SYNTAX score. The purpose of this article is to investigate the correlation between the width of erythrocyte volume distribution and the SYNTAX score in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods: From October to December 2018,in the cardiovascular department six,Hebei Provincial People’s Hospital,Coronary heart disease patients with coronary artery angiography were identified as multi-vessel disease(≥2)or single-vessel disease involving the left main trunk and percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).A total of 54 patients with low and intermediate risk were identified by SYNTAX score. They were divided into 3 groups according to the SYNTAX score tertile method with 15 and 21.75 as the cut-off points.19 patients in group a(0~15points)and 17 patients in group b(15~21.75 points),18 cases in group c(>21.75 points).Comparison of sex, age, body mass index, smoking, diabetes, left atrium diameter, left ventricular ejection fraction, wall motion, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and other related indicators to explore the relationship between red blood cell volume distribution width and SYNTAX score.Results:1.The gender, body mass index, smoking history, diabetes, hypertension, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, red blood cell volume distribution width, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminot-ransferase,blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, hemoglobin, red blood cell count, left atrium diameter, left ventricular ejection fraction and wall motion level, there were no significant differences in the above indexes between the three groups(P>0.05).There were significant differences in age and estimated glomerular filtration rate between the three groups(P<0.05).2.Age,estimated glomerular filtration rate and coronary heart disease patients SYNTAX score was statistically correlated with the severity of venous lesions;SYNTAX score increased with age;SYNTAX score increased with estimated glomerular filtration rate levels.3.Red blood cell volume distribution width was influenced by smoking history(P=0.035),body mass index(P=0.001),left atrium diameter(P=0.017).4.SYNTAX score was associated with alanine aminotransferase and red blood cell volume distribution width(P≤0.05).After adjusting for smoking history, diabetes, body mass index, left atrium diameter and other factors red blood cell volume distribution width was still a factor in the SYNTAX score for severity of coronary artery disease(P=0.033).Conclusions:1.Age was positively correlated with SYNTAX score in severity of coronary artery disease, and estimated glomerular filtration rate was negatively correlated.2.Red blood cell volume distribution width was an independent factor in low-and intermediate-risk SYNTAX score of severity of coronary artery disease in patients with coronary heart disease, and the SYNTAX score increased with the increase of red blood cell volume distribution width.
