Progress In Diagnosis And Treatment Of Small Intestinal Amyloidosis

Amyloidosis is caused by the deposition of the inherited or acquired amyloidosis in tissues and organs with a variety of causes,which affect its normal function.It is divided into systemic amyloidosis and local amyloidosis.In systemic amyloidosis,the incidence of digestive system involvement is 70% to 80%.The disease occurs in elderly male patients and can occur throughout the digestive tract from mouth to rectum,and the small intestine most frequently involved.For the primary amyloidosis found in the digestive tract,more organ damage may occur in the later stage.The deposition of different types of amyloid in the intestinal wall has its own characteristics,including its deposition site,the degree of destruction of the intestinal wall structure and so on.Low incidence and occult characteristics increase the difficulty of diagnosis and treatment of the disease.In order to increase the awareness of the disease and improve the level of early diagnosis and treatment of the disease,Through searching pubmed and other databases to review the literature on case reports,detection methods and treatment of amyloidosis of the small intestine,we will review the research progress in etiology,pathology,detection methodsand diagnosis and treatment of small intestine amyloidosis.The prognosis and other aspects are described.
