Objective A preliminary study on the expression of breast cancer susceptibility gene1(BRCA1)associated protein BRAP and its clinical significance in Kazakh's Esophageal Squamous-Cell Carcinoma(ESCC)and corresponding adjacent normal tissues. Methods 1.80 cases of Kazakh's ESCC and corresponding adjacent normal tissues are selected(the distance to tumor is beyond 5cm).The ages of all subjects are between 40 to 81 years old,the average age is 61.21 years old.All subjects underwent resection of esophageal cancer, and without preoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy before it.2.IHC is adopted to examining the expression of BRAP in ESCC and corresponding adjacent normal tissues of Kazakh.3.SPSS17.0 is adopted in data analysis.Analyzing the relationship between the expression of BRAP in Kazakh's ESCC tissues and the clinical pathological parameters of patients. Results 1.The results of IHC showed that the positive expression of BRAP was 87.50% in Kazakh's ESCC tissues,17.50% in corresponding adjacent normal tissues,The rates were significantly different from each other(P <0.001);2.Among Kazakh patients with lymph node metastasis, strong positive expression of ESCC was found in 54.29%,while only 26.67% in tumors with no lymph node metastasis, which showed statistically difference(P<0.05);3.There is no statistical significance between the positive expression of BRAP and the gender, age, tumor location, tumor types, tumor differentiation degree, depth of invasion(P>0.05).4.Kaplan-Meier survival analysis indicated the high expression of BRAP was significantly associated with poorer overall survival. Conclusion The expression of BRAP in Kazakh's ESCC was higher than that in adjacent normal tissues, and was closed related with lymph node metastasis and postoperative survival time.BRAP may play an important role in the occurrence and development of Kazakh's ESCC.
