Studies On Chemical Constituents Of Turpinia Arguta And Vitex Rotundifolia

The Chinese herbal medicine Turpinia arguta belongs to the family Turpinia of the genus Staphyleaceae,also known as the Liangzhijian,the Qianchuida,and the Qicunding,medicine part of their dry leaves.Turpinia arguta belongs to the local standard medicinal materials.It has bitter cold taste,clearing heat and detoxifying,clearing throat and swelling,promoting blood circulation and relieving pain.It has certain curative effect on the throat of the moth,sore throat,swollen sore,and pain.Studies have shown that the chemical constituents of the mountain scent are mainly flavonoids and triterpenoids,and exhibit good activity in antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,analgesic and immune enhancement.In order to develop and utilize this resource more effectively,our group further studied the chemical constituents of n-butanol in the ethanol extract of Turpinia arguta,A total of 20 compounds were isolated by modern spectroscopy methods through Macroporous Resin,Polyamide,Silica Gel,Reverse Silica Gel,Dextran Gel,and the structures of these compounds were identified by modern spectroscopy methods such as MS and NMR,including 13 flavonoids:ArgutosideF(1),luteolin-7-O-?-L-rhamanopyranosyl-(1?2)-?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-glucopyranoside(2),nuezhenoside(3),acacet in-7-O-?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?2)-?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-glucopyranos ide(4),apigenin(5),quercetin(6),quercetin-3-O-?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?6)-?-D-gluc opyranoside(7),rhoifolin(8),luteolin-7-O-?-L-rhamanopyranosyl-(1?2)-?-D-glucopyr anoside(9),acacetin-7-O-?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?2)-?-D-glucopyranoside(10),luteo lin-7-O-?-D-glucopyranoside(11),luteolin(12),neodiosmin(13).4 triterpenoids:23-hydroxy-oleanolic acid(14),asiaticoside-A(15),2?,3?,23-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid(16),ursolic acid(17).3 phenols:chlorogenic acid(18),p-coumaric acid(19),gallic acid(20).Among them,compound 1 is a new compound,and compounds 2,7,9,13,14-16,18 are obtained for the first time from this plant.Chinese traditional medicine Vitex rotundifolia belongs to the family Verbenaceae of the genus Vitex Linn,medicine part of their mature fruit,also known as theManjingshi,Jingzi,Wanjingzi.Vitex rotundifolia is a traditional Chinese medicine commonly used in China.It has the effect of evacuating wind and heat and clearing head;treating external wind and heat,dizziness,headache,gum swelling and so on.Studies have shown that the chemical constituents of Vitex rotundifolia are mainly diterpenoids and flavonoids.Modern studies have shown that Vitex rotundifolia has good activity in anti-tumor,anti-inflammatory,anti-bacterial and anti-asthmatic effects.In order to effectively develop and utilize this resource,our group further studied the chemical constituents of n-butanol in Vitex rotundifolia.A total of 12 compounds were isolated by modern spectroscopy methods through Macroporous Resin,Polyamide,Silica Gel,Reverse Silica Gel,Dextran Gel,and the structures of these compounds were identified by modern spectroscopy methods such as MS and NMR,among which 4 flavonoids: 5,6,7,8,4'-pentamethoxyflavone(21),vitexin(22),2''-O-rhamnosylvitexin(23),5-hydroxy-3',4',6,7-tetramethoxy flavonol(24);3 lignans:secoisolariciresinol(25),(7R,8S)-dihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol 9'-O-?-Dglucopyranoside(26),3-(?-D-glucopyranosyloxymethyl)-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphe nyl)-5-(3-hydroxypropyl)-7-methoxydihydrobenzofuran(27);2 coumarins:isofraxidin(28),5-methoxy-6,7-methylene-dioxy coumarin(29);2 diterpenoids:(3S,5S,8R,9R,10S)-3,9-dihydroxy-13(14)-labdaen-16,15-olide3-O-?-D-glucopyranoside(30),vitexila ctone(31).and compounds 21,23,24,25?30 are obtained for the first time from this plant.
