Objective:This study aimed to analyzes the influence of Concentrated Growth Factor(CGF),lowlevel laser therapy(LLLT),or their combination on the healing of defects in the rabbit calvarium. Methods:Four 8mm defects were surgically created in the each rabbit calvarium of 15 rabbits. The defects were randomly divided into four groups:(1)group C(control):defects were filled with autologous blood clot;(2)group CGF:defects were filled with CGF;(3)group LLLT:defects were filled with autologous blood clot and then received low-level laser irradiation;(4)group CGF /LLLT,defects were filled with CGF,and then received low-level laser irradiation.5 animals randomly selected were euthanized at 4 week,6week,8week postsurgery. The bone samples in the operation area was taken the micro-CT analysis and measured the new bone volume of each sample.Data were statistically analyzed(ANOVA of factorial design,P <0.05).Results:Positive interaction between treatment and healing time(treatment * healing time,P<0.05).Group CGF,group LLLT,and group CGF/LLLT presented new bone significantly higher than control group(P<0.05).The new bone volume in the group LLLT was the greatest than the other groups(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between CGF group and CGF/LLLT group(P>0.05).The differences between 8 weeks and the other groups(P <0.05),but there was no significant(P = 0.079> 0.05)between 4 weeks and 6 weeks. Conclusion:LLLT,CGF,or their combination all promoted NB formation and LLLT has the strongest bone-promoting ability at 8 weeks. The combination CGF /LLLT did not show synergistic effect compared to the use of either therapy alone;Instead,CGF inhibits the osteogenesis of LLLT. |
