Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value of independent or joint detection of prostate-specific antigen density(PSAD),serum ferritin(SF),and the ratio of free prostate specific antigen and total prostate specific antigen(fPSA/tPSA),for the prostate cancer(PCa) patients, whose tPSA is in the diagnostic gray zone. Methods: The study was performed by choosing 30 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and 30 cases of PCa,tPSA in the diagnostic gray zone as research object, recording the age of the patients, and Gleason score of PCa group, detecting serum tPSA,fPSA,and SF of each group.Measured the prostate volume by B-ultrasound,and calculated PSAD and fPSA/tPSA.Analyzing diagnostic efficiency for PCa of independent or joint detection of fPSA/tPSA,PSAD,SF by statistical methods. Results: 1.Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference between two groups' age,the prostate volume of PCa were significantly higher than BPH group, and there was a positive correlation between SF and Gleason score, the serum ferritin of high Gleason score group were higher than low Gleason score group.2.There was no significant difference between two groups' tPSA,while the other three indexes had significant differences.Receiver operating characteristic curve showed that the area under ROC curve of fPSA/tPSA,SF,and PSAD were 0.651,0.673 and 0.759 respectively. The diagnostic efficiency of PSAD was the best among these indexes,of which the sensitivity and specificity were 53.3% and 90% respectively.Reanalyzing ROC curve after combining three indexes, and the area under the curve was 0.830,showing that the diagnostic efficiency was higher than detected separately, the sensitivity and specificity of which were 83.3% and 63.3% respectively. Conclusion: 1.When combining fPSA/tPSA,SF,and PSAD,the diagnostic efficiency is higher than independently.2.SF can be regarded as an evaluation index for malignant degree of prostate cancer.
