Objective: To systematically evaluate the relationship between serum, urine and umbilical cord blood S100 B protein levels and neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods: Taking "S100 protein, neonates, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy" as the search term,we jointly searched Chinese HowNet journals,Weipu and Wanfang databases, using "S100 Proteins,Infant,Newborn,Hypoxia-Ischemia,Brain" as the search term, and jointly searched Pubmed,Embase and Ovid databases. From January 2019,we obtained the relevant articles for detecting the correlation between S100 B protein level and HIE.The relevant literature was screened and evaluated, and the data were extracted after inclusion. The Cochrane Library Rev Man 5.3 software was used for meta-analysis of the literature. Results: A total of 283 literatures were retrieved and 27 were included. The case-control study of serum HIE group and control group included 708 neonates with HIE and 494 healthy controls.Meta-analysis showed that the serum S100 B protein level of HIE neonates was higher than that of control group. The case-control study of serum HIE with light, medium and recombinant levels included 767 neonates with HIE and 273 healthy controls.Meta-analysis showed that the serum S100 B water of neonates with mild, moderate and severe HIE was higher than that of control group. The level of S100 B in urine of neonates with mild, moderate and severe HIE was higher than that of control group, and increased with the severity of HIE.The case-control study of HIE group and control group included 144 neonates with mild, moderate and severe HIE and 125 healthy controls.Meta analysis showed that the level of S100 B in urine of neonates with mild, moderate and severe HIE was higher than that of control group, and its level increased with the severity of HIE.Meta analysis showed that the serum S100 B protein level of 267 HIE neonates and 169 healthy controls was higher than that of the control group, and the above results had statistical significance. Conclusion: Serum S100 B protein level is an important index for the diagnosis of HIE,which is positively correlated with the severity of the disease. The level of S100 B protein in urine and umbilical cord blood has certain reference value for early diagnosis of HIE,and the level of S100 B protein in urine is positively correlated with the severity of the disease.
