| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Liao’s Tuina manipulations in the treatment of transient tic disorder(TTD)in children,to explore a safe and effective treatment for TTD in children, and to provide evidence for further study and application.Methods:70 TTD cases who were in accordance with the inclusive criteria, were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group was treated with Liao’s Tuina manipulations, while the control group was treated with Tiapride Hydrochloride orally for total 3 courses with 4 weeks as one course. The changes of Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS)total score, motor tic score, vocal tic score and social function impairment score were observed in each course of treatment and follow-up period(4 weeks after end of treatment).Clinical effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed.Results:1.A total of 70 cases were included in this study, with 64 out of which eventually completed the observation. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The baselines of two groups were balanced and were comparable(P>0.05).2.Intra-group comparisons showed that:(1)The scores of motor tic, vocal tic and YGTSS total score in the treatment group were significantly different from those before treatment, compared in 4,8,12 weeks and follow-up period(P<0.05),and there was significant difference between the follow-up period and 12 weeks after treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the scores of social function impairment in the treatment group after 4weeks of treatment compared with that before treatment(P>0.05),but there were significant differences in 8,12 weeks after treatment and follow-up period compared with before treatment(P<0.05).The scores of social function impairment were4significantly different between the follow-up period and 12 weeks after treatment(P<0.05).(2)In the control group, there were significant differences in motor tic score, vocal tic score and YGTSS total score after 4,8,12 weeks and follow-up period compared with that before treatment(P<0.05),and there were significant differences between the follow-up period and 12 weeks after treatment(P<0.05).The scores of social function impairment in the control group were significantly different from the before treatment, compared in 4,8,12 weeks(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the scores of social function impairment during the follow-up period compared with that before treatment in the control group(P>0.05),but there was significantly different between the follow-up period and 12 weeks after treatment(P<0.05).3.The comparison between the two groups showed that:There was no significant difference in motor tic score, vocal tic score, social function impairment score and YGTSS total score between the two groups after 4,8,12 weeks of treatment and during the follow-up period(P>0.05).4.The comparison of therapeutic effect showed that:(1)The therapeutic effect of the control group was superior to that of the treatment group after 4 weeks of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)There was no significant difference between the two groups after 8 and 12 weeks of treatment(P>0.05).(3)The therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group during the follow-up period, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Safety analysis: The safety of the treatment group was better than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both Liao’s Tuina manipulations and oral administration of Tiapride hydrochloride can improve the clinical symptoms of children with TTD.2.The effect of Liao’s Tuina manipulations was slower than that of oral administration of Tiapride hydrochloride, but the two methods have equally effective in the later stage of treatment.Liao’s Tuina manipulations have bettter and more stable effect in the follow-up period.3.Liao’s Tuina manipulations are safe and effective in treating children with TTD. |
