Objective:To study the clinical effect of Bushen Huoxue Decoction on residual symptoms after PKP for osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture. Methods : From January 2015 to May 2018,80 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures treated by balloon kyphoplasty(PKP)were randomly divided into control group and experimental group with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given western medicine to relieve pain, prevent infection and supplement calcium after operation, while the experimental group was given Bushen Huoxue Decoction orally on the second day after operation for 6 weeks on the basis of the control group.Visual analogue score(VAS),Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI)and bone mineral density(BMD)were recorded before,on the first day,the first week, the second week, the fourth week, the sixth week and the eighth week to evaluate the effect. Results : The VAS and ODI scores of the control group and the experimental group were improved compared with those of the preoperative group, and the ODI scores were lower than those of the preoperative group(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups on the first day after the operation(P > 0.05);the VAS scores and ODI scores of the two groups at the first week and after the operation had statistical significance(P < 0.05),the preoperative BMD values had no statistical significance(P > 0.05),and the postoperative 3.There was significant difference in bone mineral density between 6 months after operation and 6 months after operation(P < 0.05).Conclusions:Oral Bushen Huoxue Decoction is effective in treating residual pain after PKP for osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture, improving activity function and bone quality. |
