Objective:To evaluate the value of Brucella spondylitis?BS?in the diagnosis of Brucella spondylitis by 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging combined with MRI.Materials and methods:From September 2016 to February 2019,all patients diagnosed with brucellosis and with local symptoms of cervical or low back pain or with neurological damage were selected from the hospital and local CDC.A total of 18 cases were collected and their biochemical tests, imaging examinations and related disease history were collected,including13 male patients and 5 females. All patients underwent 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging and MRI examination.99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging has higher diagnostic accuracy than MRI imaging.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 23.0 statistical software to perform chi-square test of SPECT/CT and MRI diagnostic positive rate. The chi-square test was performed on the number of inflammatory vertebral bodies detected by two imaging methods in patients with confirmed BS.Compare the value of the two methods of examination in the diagnosis of Brucella spondylitis. Results:Among the 18 patients,13 patients were diagnosed as BS,and 5 patients with brucellosis alone.Among them,99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging confirmed 12 cases of BS,MRI confirmed BS patients 13.In the confirmed BS cases, the number of inflammatory vertebral bodies detected by 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT was 23,and the number of inflammatory vertebral bodies detected by MRI was 27.Conclusion:1.MRI is more sensitive to BS inflammatory vertebral body, and the test is significantly better than 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging in terms of cost and radiation damage to the body.MRI can be widely applied to the disease.Early screening and follow-up work;2.99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT imaging can be used for additional examination after MRI to screen for lesions outside the spine.
