Purpose : The increasing annual incidence of autism spectrum disorders has attracted widespread attention from domestic and foreign experts and scholars.Early screening for autism plays a crucial role in the complete process of screening, diagnosis, and intervention training for autism. At present,China's current research in the area of early screening for autism mainly focuses on the introduction and comparison of screening tools, and it is still blank in the actual screening research. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the actual status of early screening for autism in China, and to provide relevant countermeasures and suggestions in light of foreign experience, with a view to inspiring and contributing to future studies in the field of early screening of autism in China. Methods:This study mainly collected literature on autism in the past 10 years in China through literature research methods, and extracted data on the age, autism assessment instruments, and diagnostic criteria of ASD to reflect domestic early screening status of autism. At the same time, through online questionnaires,a convenient sampling method was used to obtain information of autism early screening on the age, discoverer, type of hospital chosen, and parent's understanding of autism.Consult experts, scholars, and practitioners in the field of autism about relevant information and suggestions on early screening for autism in China through online consultation and offline interviews. Results: The literature research method collected 159 valid samples, and the average age of children with autism involved was 4.36 years old,of whom 2.3 to 6.2 years old accounted for 74.8% of the selected literature samples.Among the 139 literatures that described the selected diagnostic criteria for autism,DSM-V was used most frequently, accounting for 65.47%,and DSM-IV was used second, accounting for 17.99%.Among the 126 papers that described the selected autism assessment scale, the four most frequently used scales were CARS(80),ABC(53),Gesell(15),and M-CHAT(10).Among the 17 literatures that were investigated by oral surveys of epidemic patients with autism and met the criteria for the selection of samples for this study,6 were from Guangdong Province and 3 were from Tianjin. The questionnaire method collected 82 valid questionnaires.69.51% of children with autism had abnormal behaviors. They found their own family members for the first time.Children who were found to have abnormal behavior for the first time after age 2 accounted for 70.73%.They were taken to the community during the diagnosis process. The hospital's children with autism accounted for 15.85%.The interview method was nearly blank for the early screening of domestic autism. Most of the patients were found by the parents and brought to the hospital for assessment and diagnosis. The clinical diagnosis criteria were more DSM-V options, and the localization can be promoted. The autism screening scale is almost zero.It is expected that the implementation of the early screening system in China will face many difficulties. Conclusion:This research mainly adopts the literature research method and supplemented by the questionnaire method and the interview method, confirmed that there are few autism children who were screened early in the country before the age of 2 and there is a gap between the age of the best screening(1.5 to 2 years old)recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and combined with the experience of foreign countries to give four countermeasures and suggestions: 1.Try to establish a secondary screening system for early screening for autism;2.Enhance the professional knowledge and skills of the first-level screening staff in autism, and train more such workers;3.Strengthen the popularization of autism knowledge;4.Research and promote more localized early screening scales for autism.
