Objective: Through the screening of patients with type 2 diabetes on plasma homocysteine levels of ammonia, observe the plasma homocysteine level, the analysis of the influence factors of homocysteine,to investigate the influence of bone metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus homocysteine and related mechanism;provide a simple and effective observation index for the prediction of the occurrence and development of diabetes osteoporosis, for the prevention of diabetic osteoporosis for new methods and ideas. Methods: Signed patients, inpatients and outpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were enrolled.Hcy levels were determined in all patients.Patients were then divided into normal Hcy group with Hcy <20umol/L and high Hcy group with Hcy> 20 umol / L respectively, each group containing 120 patients.?-crosslaps(?-CTX)and N-terminal propeptide of type I collagen(P1NP)were detected in both groups. The analysis of correlation between plasma homocysteine and ?-CTX and P1 NP were conducted to see whether there were statistical differences. Results: 1.There was no significant difference in age, body mass index, glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, serum calcium, serum phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein between normal Hcy group and high Hcy group(P> 0.05).However,there was significant difference in blood pressure between the two groups(P <0.05).2.There was no significant difference in body mass index, glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, serum calcium, serum phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein between males group and females group(P> 0.05).3.P1 NP level was significantly lower in high Hcy group(P <0.05)and ?-CTX level was significantly higher in the high Hcy group than that in the normal Hcy group(P <0.05).4.Hcy level in the type 2 diabetes mellitus was correlated with P1NP(P <0.05),positively correlated with?-CTX(P <0.05).Conclusion: There exists a correlation between Hcy,?-CTX and P1 NP in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Conventional Hcy detection can be an early screening of patients with high risk of osteoporosis, which contributes to an early intervention of osteoporosis treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes.
