Development And Empirical Study Of The Scale For Nurses' Ability In Assessment Affective Domain

Objectives:1.To develop a scale for nurses' ability assessment in affective domain and to test the reliability and validity of the scale,which would be an effective tool for evaluating nurses' affective domain ability in clinical nursing and nursing education.2.To evaluate the competence and status of nurses in Zhenjiang Grade-A tertiary hospitals,as to improve nurses' affective domain ability.Methods:1.Based on affective taxonomy,using literature review and theoretical analysis to establish the index systems and establish the initial item pool by relevant tools.The43 initial items was adjusted and revised after panel discussion.2.Using Delphi method to choose 15 experts in nursing education,nursing management,clinical and psychological fields to evaluate the scale.With the important assignment mean and CV as screening criteria,a forecast scale of 33 items was formed.3.Confirmed the predictive scale after surveyed 360 nurses in Zhenjiang Grade-A tertiary hospitals,and the dimensions were determined by item analysis,EFA,evaluated the reliability with Cronbach's ?,half-reliability;evaluated validity with content validity and structure validity.4.To analyze the current situation of nurses' affective domain ability in Zhenjiang Grade-A tertiary hospitals after surveyed 600 nurses.Results:1.A predictive scale include 4 first-level indicators and 25 items was established.2.Item analysis showed that: the scores of items had statistical significance(P<0.01)in critical ratio method,the correlation coefficient was 0.586~0.807 which met the requirements in correlation coefficient method,the Cronbach's ?(0.969-0.907)didn't increase after delete each item in homogeneity test.After three rounds of EFA,items 5,7,9,16,22,23,24,26 were be deleted and then formed formal scale.3.The Cronbach's ? and each dimension were 0.959 and 0.858~0.922;the half-reliability of scale and each dimension were 0.897 and 0.850~0.907.The content validity of scale was 0.928.EFA produce 4 factors and explained for 68.117%variances,coefficient among all factors is 0.570~0.783(P<0.01),which shows good reliability and validity in that scale.4.The nurses' ability of affective domain is in the middle level,the scores from high to low is professional belief perception,professional evaluation capacity,professional connotation ability,professional value internalization.Conclusion:1.Preliminary development of the nurses' affective domain ability scale: including 4dimensions(professional belief perception,professional connotation ability,professional evaluation capacity,professional value internalization)and 25 items.2.The scale has good reliability and validity,and can be used to evaluate nurses' affective domain ability.3.The nurses' affective domain ability was in the middle level,the lowest score is professional value internalization,which indicates that the internalization of higher-level ability is inadequate for nurses.Age,working years,professional title,position,educational background and training methods are the main influencing factors.
