Comparison Of Iron Metabolism Related Indexes And Clinical Characteristics Among Tibetan,Hui And Han With Type 2 Diabetes In Qinghai Area

Objective: To investigate the changes of iron metabolism related indexes such as serum iron,ferritin,unsaturated iron binding capacity and clinical characteristics among Tibetan,Hui and Han with type 2 diabetes in Qinghai area.Methods: A total of 903 patients with type 2 diabetes hospitalized in the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University from November 2017 to November 2018 were randomly selected.Those patients include 313 Tibetan patients with T2DM(239 males and 74 females),314 Han patients with T2DM(243 males and 71 females)and 276 Hui patients with T2DM(181 males and 95 females).To compare serum iron,ferritin,unsaturated iron binding capacity,general clinical routine indicators and biochemical indicators among Tibetan,Hui and Han with type 2 diabetes,and the correlation analysis was used to analyze relationship those indicators.Results: 1.The body mass index and waist circumference of patients in Tibetan with T2 DM were higher than those in Han with T2DM(P<0.05);2.The levels of SI,SF and TS of Tibetan with T2 DM were higher than those patients in Han with T2 DM and Hui with T2DM(P<0.05),while UIBC was decreased than those patients in Han with T2 DM and Hui with T2DM(P<0.05);3.The HbA1c?FBG of patients in Tibetan with T2 DM is higher increased than those in Han with T2 DM and Hui with T2 DM,and those indicators of patients in Hui with T2 DM is higher than Han with T2DM(P<0.05);4.The alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)level of patients in Tibetan with T2 DM and Hui with T2 DM were higher than those patients in Han with T2DM(P<0.05),the TG levels of patients in Han with T2 DM and Hui with T2 DM was higher than those in Tibetan with T2DM(P<0.05);5.The incidence of diabetic retinopathy of patients in Han with T2 DM were higher than that in Tibetan with T2 DM and Hui with T2DM(P<0.05).The incidence of microalbuminuria and hypertension of patients in Hui T2 DM were higher than that in Tibetan with T2 DM and Han with T2DM(P<0.05).In Tibetan with T2 DM,the proportion of fatty liver was higher than that in Han with T2 DM and Hui with T2DM;6.The HOMA-? was negatively correlated with FBG and HbA1 c in three groups,while HOMA-IR was positively correlated with FBG in three groups.Conclusions:1.The patients of Tibetan with T2 DM have higher levels of serum iron and ferritin.2.There are differences in clinical characteristics of diabetes among patients of Tibetan with T2 DM,Hui with T2 DM,and Han with T2 DM.3.The HOMA-? are negatively correlated with FBG and HbA1 c in three groups,it is suggested that high glucose toxicity can affect islet beta function and decreased islet beta function can further worsen blood glucose level.
