Investigating The Association Between XRCC1 Gene Polymorphisms And Susceptibility To Gastric Cancer In Qinghai Region

Objective: To study the relationship between XRCC1 gene polymorphism and gastric cancer susceptibility in Qinghai area.Method: A case-control study was conducted to collect 395 cases of gastric cancer diagnosed by gastroscopic or surgical pathological biopsy and 373 healthy subjects from September 2016 to September 2018 in Qinghai Provincial People’s Hospital.We also collected general clinical characteristics,including age,gender,ethnicity,smoking,drinking,infection of Helicobacter pylori and family history of cancer.the peripheral blood of two groups of subjects were extracted and DNA was extracted from it.Then genetypes were performed.The frequency distribution of different genotypes of XRCC1 gene rs2293035 and rs148611340 were analyzed for studing the relationship of XRCC1 gene polymorphism and gastric cancer in Qinghai.Results: 1.No significant differences were found in age,gender,ethnicity,smoking,drinking,infection of Helicobacter pylori and family history of cancer between the case group and the control group(P > 0.05).2.For XRCC1 rs2293035,the frequency distribution of GG genotype was 100% and 99.7% in case group and control group,respectively.The frequency distribution of GA genotype was 0% and 0.3% in case group and control group,respectively.The frequency distribution of AA genotype was 0% and 0% in case group and control group,respectively.The frequency distribution of XRCC1 rs2293035 genetype was not statistically different between the two groups(P > 0.05).XRCC1 rs2293035 was not associated with the risk of gastric cancer in Qinghai.3.For XRCC1 rs148611340,the frequency of GG genotype was 100% and 100% in the case group and the control group,respectively.The frequency of GC genotypes was 0% and 0% in the case group and the control group,respectively.The frequency of CC genotypes was 0% and 0% in the case group and the control group,respectively.No difference was in the two groups,and XRCC1 rs148611340 was not associated with the risk of gastric cancer in Qinghai.Conclusion: The XRCC1 rs2293035 and rs148611340 gene polymorphism may not associated with gastric cancer susceptibility in Qinghai.
