Objective: To study the personality characteristics of each subtype of patients with bipolar disorder(BD);For bipolar type II patients with emotional disorders of course most of the time are experiencing depression phase, small time is experienced hypomania phase is not easy to be found,so compared with major depression disorder group, patients with bipolar affective disorder II differ personality traits, reduce the clinical misdiagnosis rate and provide new ideas for special clinical disease, provide help for early diagnosis and treatment. Methods: From March 2017 to August 2018,168 patients with major depressive disorder, bipolar I disorder, bipolar II disorder, and matched healthy control group were collected in Liaoning Mental Health Center,Shenyang Mental Health Center and the Department of Psychiatry of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.General information of patients(name, sex, age, education, diagnosis, etc.)was recorded.Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)or Young Mania Rating Scale(YMRS)were used to assess the state of patients.Patients with bipolar I,II disorder and major depressive disorder(HAMD<8,YMRS<6)were completed with temperament and character inventory(TCI).The results were subjected to a one-way ANOVA using spss24 software and an LSD test later. Results: 1.The scores of the bipolar I disorder group in the two dimensions of SelfTranscendence(ST)and Persistence(PS)were higher than those of the healthy control group. There were significant differences in the ST dimension, especially in the two subdimensions of ST2 and ST3(P<0.05),and in the PS dimension, especially in the two dimensions of PS3 and PS4(P<0.05).Scores in SD dimension were lower than those in healthy control group, especially in the four sub-dimensions of SD1,SD2,SD4 and SD5(P<0.05).2.The scores of bipolar I disorder group in Novelty Seeking(NS),Harm Avoidance(HA)and Reward Dependence(RD)dimensions were lower than those of bipolar II disorder group, and the differences in NS dimensions, especially in NS1 and NS4 dimensions were significant(P<0.05).In the HA dimension, the four subdimensions of HA1,HA2,HA3 and HA4 were significantly different(P<0.05).In RD dimension, especially in RD1 and RD3,the difference is obvious.Scores in the ST dimension were higher than those in bipolar II disorder patients, especially in the two sub-dimensions of ST2 and ST3.3.Scores of patients with bipolar II disorder in NS and ST dimensions were higher than those of healthy controls, and there were significant differences in NS dimensions, especially in NS1 and NS3 subdimensions.4.Scores of patients with bipolar II disorder in NS dimension were higher than those with severe depression, especially in NS1 and NS3 subdimensions(P<0.05).The score of HA dimension was lower than that of patients with severe depression, especially in the three sub-dimensions of pessimistic HA1,HA3 and HA4(P<0.05).5.There was a negative correlation between NS dimension and age in the healthy group; In the bipolar II disorder group, the NS and HA dimensions were negatively correlated with age, while the RD,PS and Cooperativeness(CO)dimensions were positively correlated with age. Conclusion: 1.NS and ST dimensions are personality characteristics closely related to each type of bipolar disorder, and high NS and ST may be susceptible factors for the development of bipolar disorder.2.The personality characteristics of each subtype of bipolar disorder are basically the same, increasing in NS and ST dimensions and decreasing in HA and SD dimensions, but to different degrees, that is,BDII is more likely to pursue stimulation and sentimentality than BDI,while BDI is more independent and less responsible than BDII,and more likely to pursue perfection.3.Compared with BDII group,Major Depressive Disorder(MDD)patients are obviously different in NS,HA and RD.Personality characteristics of BDII patients are high excitability, love of exploration,optimism,risk-taking,extroversion and vigor, while MDD patients are relatively thrifty, conservative, pessimistic, afraid of risks, shy and easy to fatigue.
