Objective:To systematically evaluate the correlation between the use of proton pump inhibitor(PPI)and the pathogenesis of fundic gland polyps, and provide the basis for clinicians to use it.Methods:The databases of CNKI,CBM,Wan Fang,PubMed,The Cochrane Library and Embase were searched by computer, and the case-control and cohort studies on the use of proton pump inhibitors and the pathogenesis of fundic gland polyps were collected. The search period was from origin to oct 01,2017.Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted the data and assessed evaluation in the risk of bias in the study. The quality of the included literature was evaluated using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale and Meta-analysis was performed to use RevMan5.3 and Stata14 software.Results:Ultimately,12 articles(12 studies)were included,of which 3 were Chinese and9 were English.A total of 40368 subjects were included,of which 658 were cases and931 were controls. The results of Meta analysis showed that the incidence of the gastric fundic polyp in patients with PPI was significantly higher than those without PPI(OR =3.21,95% CI(1.75,2.31),P <0.01,I2 = 93%].According to the type of the study, the size of the sample and the difference of the NOS score, the subgroup analysis were further analyzed,Except for the case control study and the small sample study. The incidence of gastric fundic polyps in patients with PPI was significantly higher than people without PPI,But it does not fully explain the statistical heterogeneity. Conclusions:The incidence of fundic gland polyps in patients with PPI is three times higher than those without PPI,a finding that calls for clinicians to rationalize the use of proton pump inhibitors.
