Objective:The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological state of the orthognathic patients and their parents, evaluate the correlation between the psychological state of the orthognathic patients and their parents and determine the influencing factors of the psychological state of the patients,so as to provide a reference for the preoperative prediction of the psychological state of the orthognathic patients. Methods:The study investigated 110 patients and their parents for orthognathic surgery from the affiliated Stomatology hospital of China medical university using symptom self-assessment scale(SCL-90).The period was covered from Jul-2017to Oct-2018.All the data was analyzed by SPSS18.0.T test was used to compare the data of preoperative patients and their parents with the domestic norm.One-way anova was used to analyze the effects of different genders, places of residence, age, degree of malformation, time of malformation and surgical methods on patients’mental health status, and to carry out multiple regression analysis to determine the influencing factors of mental status;Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the psychological states of patients and parents.Results:1.The orthognathic surgery patients’total score of SCL-90(139.95±25.06)were higher than domestic norm[(129.96±38.16),P<0.01)]between patients and domestic norm(n=1388)group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).F1(somatization),F2(obsessive-compulsive),F5(anxiety),F6(hostility),F7(phobia),F8(paranoia),F9(psychosis)factors score increased statistically significant(P<0.05).Parents’(145.96±30.33)were statistically significant higher than the domestic norm[(129.96±38.16),P<0.01]between parents and domestic norm(n=1388)group.F1(somatization),F2(obsessive-compulsive),F4(depression),F5(anxiety),F6(hostility),F7(phobia),F8(paranoia),F9(psychosis)factors score increased statistically significant(P<0.05).Parents scored higher than patients in general.2.There was no statistically significant difference in patients of different genders(P>0.05).Patients living in rural areas scored statistically significant higher in F4(depression),F6(hostility),F8(paranoia)and F9(psychosis)factors than those living in urban areas(P<0.05).Patients living in rural areas scored higher than those living in urban areas in general.F1(somatization),F2(obsessive-compulsive),F3(interpersonal relationship),F5(anxiety),F6(hostility),F7(phobia),F8(paranoia),and F9(psychosis)factors and total score were statistically significant difference with different ages(P<0.05).young patients got high scores. There were statistical differences in the score of F2(obsession-compulsion),F3(interpersonal sensitivity)and F6(hostility)factors among patients with different malformations time. There were statistically significant difference in F5(anxiety),F6(hostility)and F7(phobic anxiety)factors among patients with different degree of deformity. There were statistically significant difference in F4(depression),F5(anxiety)and F6(hostility)factors among patients with different surgical methods.Age(X1),residence(X2)and deformity time(X3)were the main factors influencing psychosocial status of patients with orthognathic surgery.Age is the greatest impact on psychosocial status.3.The scores of F2(obsessive-compulsive)and F5(anxiety)were correlated between the patients and their parents(P<0.05),the pearson correlation coefficient was r2=0.192(P=0.045),r5=0.282(P=0.003).Conclusions:1.Most of the patients’personality characteristics are somatization,obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, hostility, terror,Paranoid ideation, and Psychoticism. This study suggest that proper psychological measurement need to measure before the orthognathic surgery.2.Some orthognathic surgery patients and their parents exit psychological problems before surgery.the psychological level of parents is lower than patients and exists a certain correlation in general.Clinicians should pay attention to the psychology of patients and their parents at the same time.
