ObjectiveTo investigate the related video graphy factors of cervical nerve root paralysis induced by the posterior cervical decompression and analyze the statistical data to guide and evaluate the prognosis of patients with cervical spondylosis.MethodsA retrospective analysis was performed on 90 patients who underwent posterior cervical decompression in our spinal surgery department from July 2015 to August 2017.We first collected preoperative basic data such as gender, age, and duration of illness.data.At the same time, analysised these collected datas and the such as preoperative x-ray and MRI.With spinal conditions as the standard,Whether accompanied by paralysis of deltoid or biceps brachial plexus, whether or not accompanied by paraesthesia in the shoulder,as the main criteria for the diagnosis of C5 nerve root palsy. And then, divided patients into two groups.Postoperative cervical nerve root palsy symptoms were defined as cervical five nerve root palsy group(referred to as the PG group),postoperative cervical nerve root palsy patients with no neck 5 nerve root palsy group(abbreviated as NPG group).Combined preoperative data of two groups of patients. To measure and statistically record the preoperative cervical curvature(Separately measured by different methods).C5 intervertebral foramen width,C4/5 intervertebral disc preoperative spinal cord compression. Then performed to determine which factors were associated with postoperative cervical nerve root palsy. At the same time,it is used to understand the related factors that cause C5 nerve root paralysis after cervical spine surgery. This is very important for the preoperative evaluation of clinicians and the choice of surgical approach.ResultsOf the two groups of patients,7 cases after surgery appeared C5 nerve palsy symptoms. There were statistical differences in preoperative cervical curvature and cervical 4/5 foramen width between the two groups. There were no statistically significant differences in the data of age, sex, duration of disease, preoperative C2/3 to C7/T1 levels of spinal cord compression and other factors between the two groups.ConclusionThe age, sex, duration of disease, preoperative C2/3 to C7/T1 levels of spinal cord compression, and other factors were not associated with the symptoms of cervical nerve root palsy after cervical posterior decompression fusion surgery.Postoperative palsy symptoms and preoperative cervical curvature(Borden and Cobb).C5 foraminal width,C4/5 disc preoperative spinal cord compression have no relationships.
