Objective: To observe the clinical effect of epithelial herpes simplex virus keratitis with wind-heat in liver meridian syndrom after using press-needle with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel,to evaluate the clinical application and efficacy of press-needle objectively. Methods:A total of 70 patients with the type of wind-heat in liver meridian on elpithelia HSK that met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into observation group(35 cases)and control group(35 cases). The control group was treated with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel,and the observation group was treated with ganciclovir Ophthalmic gel combined with press-needle treatment.1 course of treatment were 7 days in both groups and 3 courses totally. Before and after 3 courses, observing the symptom score, corneal fluorescein staining, and corneal sensory sensitivity of the treatment in two groups to verify the efficacy. Results: 1.Comparison of baseline data: Before treatment, the two groups of patients were compared with general information such as gender, age, course of disease, and illness,as well as scores such as symptoms and examination of eyes. The differences were not statistically significant(P> 0.05),and were comparable.2.Symptom evaluation:(1)Intra-group comparison: The total scores of the symptoms of pain, photophobia, and tearing decreased after treatment in the experimental group and the control group, and all achieved considerable curative effects after 1 week(P <0.05).(2)Comparison among groups: The main symptom score of the experimental group improved more significantly after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant compared with the control group(P <0.05).3.Conjunctival hyperemia score: Intra-group comparison:conjunctival hyperemia scores of two groups have decreased after treatment, and both have considerable effects after 1 week(P <0.05);Comparison between groups: There was no significant difference in the degree of conjunctival hyperemia between groups(P> 0.05).4.Corneal fluorescein staining scores: Intra-group comparison: the corneal fluorescein staining scores of the two groups decreased after treatment, and both achieved considerable curative effects after 1week(P <0.05);Comparison between groups:the corneal fluorescein staining score improved more significantly after treatment in the test group, and the difference was statistically significant compared with the control group(P <0.05).5.Qualitative score of corneal sensory: Intra-group comparison: the corneal sensitivity of the two groups improved after treatment, the onset time of the experimental group was ?1week,and the control group was ?2week(P <0.05);Comparison among groups: there was no significant difference in corneal sensory sensitivity between the groups(P> 0.05).6.Comparison of total efficacy: The total effective rate in the control group was71.4%,and in the test group was 82.86%.The data were tested by Chi-square test,x2=1.296,P = 0.255?0.05,and the total clinical efficacy of the two groups was not statistically significant.7.Adverse event observation: No adverse reactions were found in either group. Conclusion: For epithelial herpes simplex keratitis with wind-heat in liver meridian syndrom, whether combined with traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine treated with press-needle combined with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel or western medicine with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel alone can improve its clinical symptoms and signs, and there was no significant difference between the groups. From the analysis of a single symptom, the former is better than the latter in improving the ocular symptoms and corneal sacral degree of patients;while the improvement of conjunctival congestion and corneal sensory sensitivity is not statistically significant,it cannot be said that the treatment in the test group is better than the treatment in the control group.
