| ObjectiveTo compare the influence of parents’ company and traditional postoperative nursing on postoperative restlessness, pain and recovery, and the influence of parents’ anxiety.MethodsA total of 228 children undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia and their parents were included in this study. The children were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group using the random number table method, with 114 cases in each group. The children in the control group received routine postoperative care during the recovery period of anesthesia, while the children in the intervention group received routine postoperative care and parental companionship during the recovery period of anesthesia. The parents stayed with the children until the children became conscious and left the anesthesia-recovery room with the children. In this study,Steward recovery score, quantitative restlessness rating scale(PAED)and FLACC pain rating scale(FLACC)were used to evaluate the quality of recovery in postoperative anesthesia. The anxiety state scale(STAI-S)was used to evaluate the parents’ anxiety state after the operation of the two groups of children, that is,the comparison of the anxiety degree between the two groups of parents who accompanied the children and those who waited in the anaesthesia recovery room.SPSS22.0 was used for statistical analysis of the collected data to compare the general information of the two groups of children and their parents. The duration of operation, anesthesia, stay in the operating room and stay in the recovery room were compared between the two groups.Blood pressure, heart rate, respiration and pulse oxygen during the concomitant period of anesthesia were compared between the two groups. The scores of awakening, restlessness and pain during the recovery from anesthesia were compared between the two groups. The anxiety scores of parents after operation were compared between the two groups.Results1.The comparison of gender, age, weight and other general information between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the general information of gender, age, family income and educational background of the parents was comparable(P>0.05).2.There was no statistically significant difference between the.two groups in operation duration, anesthesia duration and time in the operating room(P>0.05).The retention time in the anesthesia recovery room in the intervention group was shorter than that in the control group(t=-2.535,P<0.05).3.The intergroup effects of respiration(F=6.593,P<0.05),pulse oxygen(F=5.761,P<0.05),systolic blood pressure(F=0.010,p>,0.05),diastolic blood pressure(F=0.884,P>,0.05)and heart rate(F=0.050,P>,0.05)were not statistically significant. The time effects of systolic blood pressure(F=6.872,P<0.01),diastolic blood pressure(F=4.097,P<0.01),heart rate(F=8.055,P<0.01),respiration(F=15.806,P<0.01)and pulse oxygen(F=50.863,P<0.01)in the two groups were statistically significant. The interaction effects of diastolic blood pressure(F=3.926,P<0.01)and pulse oxygen(F=6.872,P<0.01)were statistically significant, while the interaction effects of systolic blood pressure(F=2.313,P>0.05),heart rate(F=0.988,P>0.05)and respiration(F=0.514,P>0.05)were not.4.The intergroup effects of the recovery score(F=7.983,P<0.01),restlessness score(F=60.855,P<0.01)and pain score(F=13.142,P<0.01)in the two groups were statistically significant. The time effects of recovery score(F=528.268,P<0.01),restlessness score(F=770.734,P<0.01)and pain score(F=31.627,P<0.01)were statistically significant. The interaction between the recovery score(F=16.587,P<0.01),restlessness score(F=22.334,P<0.01)and pain score(F=3.856,P<0.05)was statistically significant.5.The anxiety score of parents in the intervention group was(41.65±6.35),and that of parents in the control group was(48.32±10.70).There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(t=-5.721,P<0.05).Conclusion1.During the recovery period of anesthesia, the company of parents can reduce the retention time of children in the anesthesia recovery room and speed up the time of children.2.During the convalescence period of anesthesia, accompanied by parents had no obvious effect on the postoperative blood pressure, heart rate, respiration and pulse oxygen of children.3.During the recovery period of anesthesia, accompanied by parents can relieve postoperative pain, reduce the occurrence of restlessness and improve the quality of recovery.4.During the recovery period of anesthesia, the company of parents can reduce the anxiety level of the parents of the child, assist the medical staff to care for the child, and play a positive role in the recovery of the child. |
