ObjectivesTo understand the current situation of nursing undergraduates' perceived social support,professional commitment and learning engagement,analyze the differences in the demographic characteristics of nursing undergraduates' perceived social support,professional commitment and learning engagement,and explore the correlation between the three and the mediating role of professional commitment in perceived social support and learning engagement.In order to improve the nursing undergraduates learning engagement,improve the learning harvest to provide a basis.MethodsThis study uses the convenient sampling method.In April 2019,768 nursing undergraduates from four medical colleges in Anhui province were selected as the research object.The research tools were demographic questionnaire,Perceived Social Support Scale,Professional Commitment Scale and College Students' Learning Engagement Questionnaire.SPSS23.0 was used for data analysis,including descriptive analysis,independent sample t test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis,and Model 4 in the PROCESS program developed by Hayes verifies the mediation effect.Results1.The score of perceived social support of nursing undergraduates was 5.32±0.82,and the highest score was 5.41±0.96 for family support.The score of perceived social support and its various dimensions of female and student cadres were higher than that of male and non-student cadres(P<0.05).The scores of perceived social support,friends support and other support of nursing students in urban areas were higher than those in rural areas(P<0.05).The score of perceived social support and family support of nursing students with only child was higher than that of non-only child(P<0.05).2.The score of professional commitment of nursing undergraduates was 3.40±0.44,with the highest score was 3.90±0.51 for normative commitment and the lowest score was 3.17±0.51 for continuance commitment.Scores of affective commitment and ideal commitment of nursing students as student cadres were higher than those of non-student cadres(P<0.05).The score of professional commitment and the scores of each dimension of nursing students who choose nursing major according to personal intention are higher than that of parents or others,college entrance examination adjustment and other nursing students(P<0.05).3.The score of nursing undergraduates' learning engagement was 3.31±0.49,and the scores of each dimension from high to low were 3.39±0.55 for cognitive engagement,3.31±0.56 for emotional engagement,and 3.21±0.57 for behavioral engagement.The scores of learning engagement,cognitive engagement and behavioral engagement of female students were higher than that of male students(P<0.05).The score of nursing students' learning engagement and its dimension score of serving as student cadres are higher than that of non-student cadres(P<0.05).The score of learning engagement and each dimension score of first-year nursing students were lower than second-year nursing students(P<0.05).The scores of learning engagement and emotional engagement of nursing students who choose nursing major according to personal intention were higher than that of parents or others,college entrance examination adjustment and other nursing students(P<0.05).4.Nursing undergraduates' perceived social support can positively predict learning engagement(?=0.339,P<0.001),the nursing undergraduates' perceived social support can positively predict professional commitment(?=0.356,P<0.001),the nursing undergraduates' professional commitment can positively predict learning engagement(?=0.648,P<0.001).5.Nursing undergraduates' professional commitment plays a part of the mediating role between perceived social support and learning engagement.Mediating effect accounted for 67.93% of the total effect.Conclusions1.Nursing undergraduates' perceived social support is at upper-middle level,professional commitment and learning engagement are at medium level.2.Nursing undergraduates' perceived social support can positively predict learning engagement,professional commitment.the nursing undergraduates' professional commitment can positively predict learning engagement.3.Nursing undergraduates' professional commitment plays a part of the mediating role between perceived social support and learning engagement.
