| Objective:The study is carried on to study the features of symptoms,TCM syndromes and TCM constitutions in young and middle-aged patients with colorectal polyps.Besides,we compare the levels of serum lipids and serum uric acid in patients with or without colorectal polyps, and the levels in patients of different syndromes and pathological types,so as to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of colorectal polyps.Methods:86 patients with colorectal polyps were included. All of them were hospitalized in Department of Gastroenterology in Suzhou Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine from April 1st 2019 to January 31st 2020.We gathered information of their genders, age, height, weight, clinical symptoms, levels of TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C and SUA,and their pathological diagnosis results. We also investigated these serum indices of 78 patients without colorectal polyps. After that,we carried on data analysis and came to the conclusion.Results:1.The most common clinical symptoms were diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distentiona.2.From more to less, the syndrome types of traditional Chinese medicine were dampness-heat of intestine syndrome, spleen deficiency with blood stasis syndrome, dampness stagnation and blood stasis syndrome,Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome.3.The most common constitution was gentleness constitution(46.5%),followed by Yang deficiency constitution(20.9%)and damp-heat constitution(12.8%).4.There were statistical differences for TG(P=0.001<0.05),LDL-C(P=0.010<0.05)and SUA(P=0.015<0.05)between patients with and without colorectal polyps.5.Adenoma was the most common pathological type, even if the levels of blood lipid and uric acid in the target population were abnormal. The sizes of polyps were related to their pathological types.6.There were most patients with hypercholesterolemia in the spleen deficiency with blood stasis syndrome(42.1%)group.Besides,there were most patients with hypertriglyceridemia, low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(45.8%)or hyperuricemia(48.1%)in the dampness-heat of intestine syndrome group. The two TCM syndromes were both more likely to be seen in patients with high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol than the other two syndromes(35.7%and 32.4%).Conclusion:1.The most common TCM syndromes were dampness-heat of intestine syndrome and spleen deficiency with blood stasis syndrome.Gentleness constitution,Yang deficiency constitution,damp-heat constitution,Qi deficiency constitution were most likely to be seen in patients aged from 20-59 years old with colorectal polyps. The most common pathological type of colorectal polyps was adenoma.2.To some degree, sizes of polyps were determined by pathological types, adenomas might be bigger than hyperplastic polyps and inflammatory polyps.3.There were significant differences in TG,SUA,HDL-C between patients with colorectal polyps aged from 20 to 59 and non-colorectal-polyp patients.4.Patients with hypercholesterolemia tended to be judged as spleen deficiency with blood stasis syndrome, while ones with hypertriglyceridemia, low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol or hyperuricemia tended to be judged as the dampness-heat of intestine syndrome.5.Adenomas might more likely to be found in patients with abnormal blood lipid and uric acid levels. |
