Objective:To study the effect of abdominal breathing training on sleep quality of middle-aged female patients with insomnia.Methods:200 middle-aged female patients who were treated in the clinic of insomnia in a third-class hospital in Changchun from July 2018 to July 2019 were selected by convenience sampling.The patients were divided into two groups according to the odd and even numbers,the odd group patients weredivided into the control group,and the even group patients weredivided into the experimental group,100 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing education,including diet,psychology,exercise and other aspects of guidance.The experimental group received abdominal breathing training program on the basis of routine nursing education.Patients in both groups were evaluated with Pittsburgh Sleep Index scale((PSQI))after the intervention and follow-up was performed 1 month after the intervention.The study period was divided into two stages,2months in total,the first month was the intervention stage,the second month was the follow-up stage.The baseline data were compared by the self-made general data questionnaire.PSQI was used to investigate and analyze the data before intervention,after intervention and the follow-up stage.Results:(1)Before intervention: there was no significant difference in general data between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in PSQI scores between the two groups(P>0.05).(2)After intervention,there was significant difference in the score of PSQI between the two groups(P<0.05),and the score of the experimental group was higher than the control group.(3)Follow-up stage: there was significant difference in PSQI scores between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)After the intervention,abdominal breathing training cansignifica-ntly improve the sleep quality of middle-aged female patients with insomnia.(2)Follow-up 1 month after the intervention,the effect of abdominal breathing training was still obvious,but the lack of supervision of the nursing staff led to the patients’ laxity.However,the sleep quality of the patients in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group.
