| Objective:Sudden cardiac death(SCD)is a serious public health problem in China and even in the world because of its acute onset and low survival rate. With the aging of the population, the number of patients with chronic diseases is gradually increasing, and the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases are on the rise.As the gatekeeper of residents’ health,General Practitioners have unique position in the prevention and treatment of SCD due to their nature of work, professional characteristics and workplace advantages. In this study,a questionnaire survey on SCD-related knowledge was conducted among General practice early medical personnel,to understand their cognition and attitude towards SCD knowledge,to analyze the problems existing in their knowledge level of SCD,and at the same time to put forward relevant suggestions for improvement,so as to improve the SCD knowledge level and SCD management ability of General practice early medical personnel. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for further improving the training and education of SCD in the process of general practice training and the construction of community SCD prevention and treatment system. Methods:From August to September 2019,the study was conducted a questionnaire survey on SCD knowledge among 74 general practice resident doctors of grade 2017 in a general practice base(for short:general practice resident doctors)and 99 fourth-year students majoring in clinical medicine in a university(for short: medical students)in Henan Province by convenient sampling. The questionnaire includes three parts: personal information,SCD knowledge survey and related willingness attitude.Among them, thesurvey of SCD knowledge includes three dimensions: SCD prevention, early diagnosis and emergency treatment(a total of 24 questions,1 point for one correct answer).Willingness attitude mainly includes the understanding of the key contents of SCD early diagnosis and first aid, whether or not to participate in SCD-related training previously, and the willingness to participate in SCD training.Epidata 3.0 was used to input data, and SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the related data. The measurement data were expressed by Mean ±standard deviation(`x±s)and the counting data were expressed by n(%).According to the data distribution, the components were compared by t-test or Mann-Whitney rank sum test, and the classified variables were analyzed by chi-square test. Results:A total of 173 questionnaires were sent out,and 172 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 99.42%,including 74 general practice resident doctors and 98 medical students. The total score of SCD-related knowledge was 8-23,and the average score was 14.54 ±3.09.the average scores of each dimension from high to low were prevention, first aid and early diagnosis. The average total score of general practice resident doctors was 16.45 ±2.96,and the average scores of each dimension from high to low were prevention, early diagnosis and first aid.The average total score of medical students was(13.10 ±2.30),and the average scores of each dimension from high to low were first aid, prevention and early diagnosis.Compared with medical students, general practice resident doctors scored higher than medical students in SCD total score(16.45 ±2.96 vs.13.10 ±2.30,P < 0.05),prevention(5.95 ±1.17 vs.4.79 ±1.25,P < 0.05)and early diagnosis(5.41 ±1.51 vs.3.30 ±1.30,P < 0.05),the difference was statistically significant. There was no significant difference in the dimension of SCD first aid knowledge between the two groups(5.10 ±1.44 vs.5.01 ±1.10,P>0.05).In terms of SCD knowledge and attitude,26 medical students(22.53%)and 22 general practice resident doctors(30.14%)were able to determine the key measures for early diagnosis of SCD.53.06% of medical students and 41.10% of general practice resident doctors agreed that the key to reducing SCD was to adopt and popularize Automated External Defibrillator(AED)/ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR)and give patients timely and effective first aid measures.95 General practice early medical personnels had received SCD-related training, among which more general practice resident doctors received training than medical students, the difference was statistically significant(61 vs.34,P <0.001).Most of General practice early medical personnels(94.19%)expressed a strong willingness to participate in SCD-related training, and there was no significant difference between medical students and general practice resident doctors(Z =-0.20,P >0.05).The total score of SCD knowledge(15.16 ±3.22 vs.13.77 ±2.74,P < 0.001)and the score of early diagnosis knowledge(4.66 ±1.70 vs.3.64 ±1.62,P < 0.001)were significantly higher in those who had received SCD training. Conclusions:General practice early medical personnels have a certain understanding of SCD-related knowledge, but the knowledge is not comprehensive, and the cognitive level of SCD needs to be improved. In the process of general practice early medical personnel training,it is necessary to strengthen the education of SCD-related knowledge, strengthen the education of medical students’ knowledge of SCD prevention and early diagnosis, and attach importance to the training and assessment of first aid knowledge of general practice resident doctors. |
