Objective:At present, there are many kinds of operations reported clinically to repair fingertip skin and soft tissue defects, but it is still a great challenge to repair skin and soft tissue defects of multiple fingertip. This article mainly discusses the clinical effect of sequential cross-finger flaps combined with thenar flaps in repairing skin and soft tissue defects of multiple fingertips. Methods:From January 2012 to September 2018,31 patients with skin and soft tissue defects of multiple fingertips were treated with sequential cross-finger flaps combined with thenar flaps. There were 21 male patients and 10 female patients. The age ranged from 35 to 64 years, with an average age of 49 years. All patients underwent X-ray examination before operation. The X-ray examination showed that there were various degrees of soft tissue or bone defects in fingertips of fingers. After operation,31 patients were followed up regularly to observe the appearance, function, sensation and survival of the flaps. Results:The flaps of 31 cases survived after operation,29 flaps healed in one stage, and 2 flaps had mild infection. After active and conservative treatment, the wound healed.31 patients were followed up for 3 months to 2 years with an average of 1 year. The transplanted skin flaps completely covered the defect without necrosis, wear and ulceration, scar contracture of the incision, and recovery of sensory function to some extent. The patients were satisfied with the transplanted skin flaps. Conclusion:The sequential cross-finger flaps combined with thenar flap in repairing fingertip skin and soft tissue defects is a feasible method, which has the advantages of simple operation, beautiful appearance, retains the finger length,no need for microsurgical technique, high survival rate and good functional advantages.
