Background Gynecological cancer patients are currently treated by surgery.Patients usually accompanied by large psychological burden after treatment due to the lack of reproductive organs.The coping styles of patients are closely related to their quality of life.Studying the influencing factors and characteristics of coping styles of gynecological cancer patients will help provide practical guidance for coping styles of gynecological cancer patients,so as to formulate targeted nursing measures,improve patient coping styles and improve their quality of life.Objective The main objective of this study is to assess the current status of coping styles for gynecological cancer patients and to analyze the influencing factors of coping styles.The main purpose of this study was to assess the current status of coping styles for gynecological cancer patients,and to evaluate the association between demographic variables,personality traits,social support,self-efficacy and coping styles.Methods1.A self-assessment questionnaire was used in this study.The Jalowiec coping scale was used to evaluate the patient’s coping style,the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire was used to evaluate the patient’s personality traits,and the General Self-Efficacy Scale and the Social Support Rating Scale were used to evaluate the patient’s self-efficacy and social support results.2.Chi-square test was used to evaluate the demographic influencing factors of patient coping styles.3.Pearson Bivariate corelations were used to assess the association between patients coping styles and general self-efficacy,personality traits,and social support.4.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of patient coping style.Results1.The gynecological cancer patient’s optimistic coping scores(1.61 ± 0.36),the emotive coping scores(1.43 ± 0.56)points,the self-reliant coping scores(1.43 ± 0.43),the fatalistic coping scores(1.41 ± 0.55)points,the supportive coping scores(1.35 ±0.43),the evasive coping scores(1.32 ± 0.31)points,the confrontive coping scores(1.24 ± 0.46),and the palliative coping scores(1.17 ± 0.48)points.2.Patients’ religious beliefs and medical expenses are influential factors of patients support and coping styles.The family’s average monthly income is an influencing factor of patients’ self-reliant coping style.Patients’ marital status and educational level are the influencing factors of patients’ confrontive coping styles,emotive coping styles,and evasive coping styles.Education level is an influencing factor of palliative coping style and fatalistic coping style.3.Introvert and extraversion in the personality traits of patients positively affect optimistic coping,supportive coping,confrontive coping,and palliative coping;neuroticism positively affects patients’ self-reliant coping,fatalistic coping,emotive coping,and evasive coping;psychoticism positively affects patients’ evasive coping;concealment positively affects the patient’s optimistic coping,and adversely affects the patient’s emotive coping and evasive coping style.4.Patients self-efficacy positively affects patients’ optimistic coping,self-reliant coping,confrontive coping,palliative coping,and evasive coping styles.Negatively affects the patient’s fatalistic coping style.5.Social support positively affects the patient’s supportive coping style,and negatively affects the patient’s fatalistic coping style.Conclusions optimistic coping scores(1.61 ± 0.36),the emotive coping scores(1.43± 0.56)points,the self-reliant coping scores(1.43 ± 0.43),the fatalistic coping scores(1.41 ± 0.55)points,the supportive coping scores(1.35 ± 0.43),the evasive coping scores(1.32 ± 0.31)points,the confrontive coping scores(1.24 ± 0.46),and the palliative coping1.The most commonly used coping styles for gynecologic cancer patients are optimism coping and emotive coping,the least commonly used coping styles are palliative coping and confrontive coping styles.3.Personality traits are one of the main factors that affect the 8 types coping styles.4.Self-efficacy is the influencing factor of patients’ optimism coping,self-reliant coping,facing coping,palliative coping and evasive coping styles.5.Social support is an influencing factor of patients supportive coping style.
