Objective:The method, scheme and operation of the control group(sham acupuncture group)in the randomized controlled trial of acupuncture treatment of low back pain are systematically summarized, with a view to providing theoretical and empirical support for the control method of acupuncture treatment of low back pain random control group, thereby providing more scientific opinions and references for the clinical trial of low back pain.Method:The literature search uses database joint means. The search sources include:CNKI,WANGFANG,VIP database(VIP),MEDLINE,EMBSE,COCHRANE,and China Biomedical Literature Database(CBM).The papers of the gray literature conference were searched through scientific papers online and OPEN GREY;The journals "Chinese Acupuncture","Acupuncture Clinical Journal" and "Acupuncture Research" were manually searched. The search strategy uses subject words combined with free words. The main search words are "acupuncture" or "acupuncture point" or"acupuncture therapy" and "low back pain" or "backache" and "RCT" or "randomized controlled trial".The dates are from the construction of the library to May 31,2019.First,the collected documents were imported into EndNote X9 document management software, and the first step was to remove duplications.Second, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the documents, combined with the document title,,and full text, the studies that met the inclusion criteria were finally selected.Data extraction and quality evaluation:For documents meeting the inclusion criteria, the test data extracted mainly based on the Consroth and Stricta standards. Both by the two evaluators independently completed, after cross-check,such as judgment, can be discussed or third-party ruling, the extracted test data mainly includes the following points:basic information of patients participating in the test group and control group, severity of symptoms, test course, outcome indicators, etc.,acupuncture schemes and needles used in the test group and control group,Acupuncture location, operation technique, depth, needle retention time, frequency of treatment, etc.,For the methodological quality evaluation included in the literature research,we used the risk of bias(ROB)tool for randomized controlled trials recommended by the Cochrane Systematic Review Manual. The methodological quality of each clinical trial is assessed.Result:Through computer and manual search of journal literatures, dissertations and gray literatures,1291 paper titles and abstracts were obtained.EndNote X9 document management software was used to remove duplications on the computer, and the remaining documents were checked for inclusion criteria by reading the title, abstract, and full text.Finally,19 articles were obtained,of which 16 were English and 3 were Chinese.A total of 3091 trial participants.Meta analysis shows that acupuncture is effective in reducing pain(VAS and RMDQ)compared with sham acupuncture or placebo during the end of treatment or follow-upConclusion:The analysis results of this study show that conventional acupuncture has a certain effect on pain relief compared with sham acupuncture or placebo acupuncture, and a comprehensive analysis of specific operations and matters in each trial found that a randomized controlled trial of acupuncture in treating low back pain lack of TCM design thinking, unclear diagnostic criteria,no data on acupoint selection, and low degree of blindness. In the end of treatment or follow-up,acupuncture is effective in reducing pain(VAS and PMDQ)compared with sham acupuncture or placebo acupuncture, and according to the results of the current study,it cannot be concluded that "acupuncture is equivalent to placebo" in conclusion.
