Objective: To explore the expression of RPL41 and endoplasmic reticulum stress factor BIP,PERK,ATF4,VEGF in serum of patients with diabetic retinopathy.At the same time,the correlation between serum RPL41 and ATF4 levels was studied.Methods: 60 diabetic patients hospitalized in the department of ophthalmology and endocrinology,shengjing hospital affiliated to China medical university from October 2018 to December 2019 were selected,and 20 healthy patients who underwent routine examinations in our hospital during the same period were selected as the healthy control group.Clinical data such as age,sex,height and weight of the patients were collected,and serum indicators of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),fasting blood glucose(FPG),hemoglobin a1c(HbA1c),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL)were measured.According to the results of fundus examination,the diabetic patients were divided into non-retinopathy group(NDR group),non-proliferative retinopathy group(NPDR group)and proliferative retinopathy group(PDR group)with 20 cases each.The levels of RPL41,BIP,PERK,ATF4 and VEGF were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorption(ELISA).The levels of each indicator in the four groups were compared,and the correlation between the expression of ATF4 and RPL41 was analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis.Results: Compared with the healthy control group,there was no significant difference in gender,age,BMI and other clinical data of patients in NDR group,NPDR group and PDR group(P >0.05),which was comparable.Compared with the healthy control group,there was no significant difference in TC,TG,HDL and LDL between the NDR group,NPDR group and PDR group(P > 0.05).The levels of HbA1 c and FBG were relatively high(P < 0.05).The levels of BIP,ATF4 and VEGF in the NDR group,NPDR group and PDR group were significantly higher than those in the healthy control group,and the levels of RPL41 were relatively low(P < 0.05).There was a negative correlation between the expression of ATF4 and RPL41 in serum of all patients.Conclusion: Endoplasmic reticulum stress factors BIP,ATF4 and VEGF are highly expressed in the serum of DR patients,and there is a certain relationship between them and the severity of the disease,which can be used as a reference index for clinical observation of the progress of DR.RPL41 was negatively correlated with the expression of ATF4 in the serum of DR patients.
