Objective: This study was designed to investigate the aortic arch and its branches from transverse, sagittal, and coronal view of fetus with normal aortic arch and aortic arch anomalies, combined with High-definition Flow Imaging(HDFI).Through series of scanning,we aim to discuss the value of these views in displaying aortic arch, brachiocephalic arteries and aortic arch anomalies, and analyze their advantages and disadvantages,in order to provide some help to the prenatal diagnosis of aortic arch anomalies. Methods: We performed a prospective study of all fetal echocardiograms obtained at our institution between December 2018 and December 2019,including 150 fetuses with normal aortic arch and 20 fetuses with confirmed diagnosis of aortic arch anomalies. For each fetus, transverse view, sagittal view and coronal view together with HDFI were used to observe the positional relationship of the fetal aortic arch with trachea, number of brachiocephalic arteries of fetus with normal aortic arch and display of abnormal brachiocephalic arteries of fetus with aortic arch anomaly. All fetuses(except loss to follow up)are confirmed by autopsy or after-birth echocardiography or computed tomographic angiography. Results: Transverse and coronal view can better show brachiocephalic arteries, meanwhile, the positional relationship of the aortic arch and trachea can be recognized. For aortic arch anomaly, continuous scanning around coronal view of descending aorta can better show the origin and course of the abnormal brachiocephalic arteries. Conclusion: Transverse and coronal scanning are of great value in displaying brachiocephalic arteries as well as the positional relationship of the aortic arch and trachea.Coronal view can show the abnormal brachiocephalic arteries well.
