Objective: To explore the clinical effect of electrochemical therapy combined with pingyangmycin injection in the treatment of vascular malformation(VM)of tongue and the prevention of adverse reaction, and provide a reference for VM of tongue. Methods: During the period from January 2013 to May 2018,77 patients with VM of tongue were rewiewed in School of Stomatology,China Medical University, including 54 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The size of the lesion was 2cm×2cm? 7cm×9cm,and 45 cases were high-flow VM.All patients did not receive any treatment before operation, and were diagnosed as VM of tongue based on medical history and clinical examination, excluding the contraindications of operation and anesthesia.During the operation, electrochemical therapy was first performed, and the amount of electrochemical treatment was 5C/cm2?10C/cm2 according to the size of the lesion. Then,Pingyangmycin was injected into the lesion. The injection concentration for children is 1mg/ml,and the injection concentration for adults is 1.6mg/ml.The injection volume is 3ml to 5ml according to the size of the lesion. After the operation,anti-inflammatory and hormone therapy were given for 3 ?5 days to prevent infection and reduce swelling. The patient revisited in clinic at 1 and 3 months after the operation and was given pingyangmycin injection according to the improvement of the lesion. Results: The follow-up time was from 1year to 5 years, the efficacy was evaluated 1 year after the patient received the last treatment.44 of 54 patients were cured(81.5%),10 patients were significantly improved(18.5%),and the effective rate was 100%.More than 60% of patients were cured after receiving only 1 combination therapy.Postoperative symptoms such as local pain and swelling often occur in patients, and the symptoms generally disappear within 5 to 7 days. The sensation and function of tongue were normal in all postoperative patients. Conclusions: Electrochemical therapy combined with pingyangmycin injection in the treatment of VM of tongue is an effective method, with short treatment period and few side effects. It is also effective for high-flow VM of tongue and is worth promoting.
