ObjectiveTo develop a specific readiness for hospital discharge scale for patients with enterostomy and test the reliability and validity. The scale was used to investigate the current situation of readiness for hospital discharge of patients with enterostomy, and to explore the impact of demographic characteristics, disease and treatment data.Methods1.Development of readiness for hospital discharge scale for patients with enterostomy: The readiness for hospital discharge scale for patients with enterostomy was developed by consulting the domestic and foreign literature and Delphi experts.132 patients with enterostomy were conveniently choosed from a Grade 3A hospital in Qingdao to test the reliability and validity of the scale.2.Investigation on the current situation and influencing factors of readiness for hospital discharge of patients with enterostomy: Using the readiness for hospital discharge scale for patients with enterostomy as investigation tools,by convenient sampling,165 patients with enterostomy were selected to investigate the current situation, and the data obtained was analyzed by SPSS 22.0 software.Descriptive statistics was used to analyze demographic characteristics of patients and the current situation of readiness for hospital discharge;univariate analysis, multiple stepwise regression analysis and other methods were used to explore the factors affecting the readiness for hospital discharge of patients.Results1.The reliability and validity of readiness for hospital discharge scale for patients with enterostomy: A total of 4 common factors were extracted from the scale, and the contribution rate of cumulative variance reached 79.503%.The common factors were named disease knowledge(8 items),expected support(4 items),personal status(3 items),and coping ability(3 items). The Cronbach’s α coefficient of the scale was 0.923,the Cronbach’s α coefficient of each factor were 0.806 ~ 0.947,the split-half reliability coefficient was 0.766,and the split-half reliability coefficient of each factor were 0.750~0.881.2.A descriptive study on readiness for hospital discharge of patients with enterostomy: The total score of the scale was(117.47 ± 28.56).The dimensions were ranked according to the score: expected support, personal status, coping ability, and disease knowledge.3.One-way ANOVA analysis of readiness for hospital discharge of patients with enterostomy: Age,marital status, work status, education level, convenience of access to medical resources, relationship between caregivers and patients, types of combined diseases, the frequency of doctors’ and nurses’ guidance, and differences in readiness for hospital discharge of patients with 9 variables were statistically significant(P <0.05).4.Multiple stepwise regression analysis of readiness for hospital discharge of patients with enterostomy: The four variables of age, convenience of access to medical resources, the frequency of doctors’ guidance, and the frequency of nurses’ guidance on the stoma were finally entered into the regression equation. The effects of the variables from large to small were as follows: the frequency of doctors’ guidance, the frequency of nurses’ guidance on the stoma, age, and convenience of access to medical resources.Conclusions1.The readiness for hospital discharge scale for patients with enterostomy has good reliability and validity, which can be used to evaluate readiness for hospital discharge of patients.2.The readiness for hospital discharge of patients is in the middle.Age,convenience of access to medical resources, and the frequency of doctors’ and nurses’ guidance are the main factors that affect readiness for hospital discharge of patients.
