Clinical Observation On The Effect Of Liuwei Dihuang Pills Combined With Standardized Western Medicine On The Life Quality In Elderly Patients With Hypertension Of Liver And Kidney Yin Deficiency

Objective This study mainly uses clinical Western observation methods to treat elderly patients with hypertension of liver-kidney yin deficiency by applying standard western medicine combined with Liuwei Dihuang Pills.The efficiency,safety and influence of Liuwei Dihuang Pills in improving the quality of life in these patients are evaluated by observing the changes in symptoms and quality of life of patients before and after 8 weeks of treatment.This work can provide theoretical guidance and clinical basis for future clinical treatment and improve the life quality of elderly patients with hypertension of liver-kidney yin deficiency which are still discomfort with stable blood pressure control.Methods Start from December 2018 and until December 2019,sixty-four patients who meet the admission criteria in the first cardiovascular department of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine are separated into two different groups,treatment group(standardized Western medicine antihypertensive therapy combined with Liuwei Dihuang Pills,32 cases)and control group(standardized western medicine antihypertensive treatment,32 cases)randomly.The courses of treatment are 8 weeks.The changes of TCM syndromes,24-hour ambulatory blood pressure,and Chinese quality of life questionnaire before and after treatment are recorded to evaluate the effect of antihypertensive treatment on the improvement of patients' symptoms and the impact on the quality of life using Liuwei Dihuang Pills combined with standardized western medicine.Monitoring the blood pressure,electrocardiogram,blood routine,liver and kidney function,and adverse reactions,the safety of the drug is also evaluated.Results According to the statistical analysis,Liuwei Dihuang Pills combined with standardized antihypertensive drugs for the treatment of elderly patients with hypertension of liver and kidney yin deficiency can significantly improve the patients' physical,psychological,self-evaluation and comprehensive evaluation scores in the Chinese Quality of Life Scale(P <0.01).At the same time,the control group can also improve these four aspects,but the control group only has significant effect on self-evaluation before and after treatment.Evaluating the quality of life scores after treatment in three aspects,psychological,self-evaluation and comprehensive evaluation,Liuwei Dihuang Wan combined with standardized antihypertensive Western medicine treatment has better performance compared with the control group.In terms of TCM syndromes,the treatment group has an effective rate of 76.67% and a significant effective rate of 10.00%.The effective rate of the control group treated with antihypertensive drugs alone is 61.29%,the significant effective rate is 3.23%.There are some significant differences between treatment group and control group(P <0.05).Doing comparison about each cases,the two groups can both effectively improve the main symptoms of the subjects,but their difference is not that obvious(P> 0.05).However,the combination of TCM and syndrome is statistically significant for treatment group with Liuwei Dihuang Pills compared with the control group using antihypertensive western medicine alone(P < 0.05).During the test,we observe 2 adverse cases in treatment group and 1 adverse event in control group.So,considering the safety evaluation,we cannot recommend significant difference between these two groups(P> 0.05).Conclusion Liuwei Dihuang Pills combined with standardized western medicine is effective in treating elderly patients with hypertension of liver-kidney yin deficiency.Compared with standard western medicine treatment,adding Liuwei Dihuang Pills provides more effective improvement on dizziness,headache,TCM and overall efficacy after stable blood pressure control.And it can improve the life quality of patients to a certain extent,no serious adverse reactions,good safety.Further clinical research is valuable.
