Study On The Characteristics Of The Treatment Of Cough Of Waitai Miyao Fang

Objective: The main propose in this study is to study the recognize and treatment of pathogenies of cough in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang,and summaries characteristics in medicine using and compatibility law of prescription in treating cough.This work can promote some references to modern chinese medicine clinic and give some brilliant ideas to chinese medicine doctors.Methods: First,using document sciences,we combed relevant chapters the pathogenies cognition of cough.Then,we collected and analyzed prescriptions of cough treating,putting them to Traditional Chinese Medicine Auxiliary Platform V2.5to establish Prescription Database.Last,under Traditional Chinese Pharmacology theory,through data mining,we analyzed derivation,dosage forms,major medicine quantities,function,four properties and five tastes,frequency and compatibilities to discuss characteristics in medicine using and compatibility law of prescription in treating cough.Results:(1)There are a total of 269 prescriptions for the treatment of cough in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang;most of which are from Volumes 9 and 10 of the monograph on cough;the dosage forms are mainly decoctions,pills,and ointments;the average number of flavors of the decoction is about 7.4,The average number of flavors of pills and ointments is about 8.6.(2)Common treating cough medicines in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang includes Tonify deficiency medicine,Phlegm Relief medicines,antihypertensive medicines,warm inside medicines,relieving cough and asthma medicines and antipyretic Drugs.The medicinal properties are mainly mild and cold;the medicinal testes are sweet spicy and bitter.Mainly meridian include lung and spleen meridian.the top 10 drugs used frequently are Gancao(glycyrrhizae radix et rhizome),“Gui”,bitter Xingren(armeniacae semen amarum),honey(MEL),Ziwan(asteris radix et rhizome),Ganjiang(zingiberis rhizoma),Shengjiang(zingiberis rhizoma recens),Xixin(zingiberis rhizoma),Wuweizi(schisandrae chinensis fructus)and Mahuang(ephedrae herba).Common medicine pairs are based on permutation and combination of high frequence using herbs.Using drastically purgating water medicine,like Yuanhua(genkwa flos),and homology of medicine and food,like carps,are characteristics in treating cough.Conclusion:(1)Cough is caused by both external and internal damages in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang.Nature of disease concludes deficiency,excess,cold and hot,all which are from either self-organ or other organs.The classification of cough is both old and innovative.There are many models,but it is not clear enough.(2)Basic pathogenesis of cough in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang is lung function loss.The balance of lung normal function will be break by external or internal damages,lung self-damaged and influence by other organs,which will lead to cough.Nature of cough concludes deficiency,excess,cold and hot.(3)Small prescriptions play a major role in cough treating in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang.These prescriptions are payed more attention on relationship of lung,stomach and large intestine to recover normal function of lung.Therapies considered strengthening body resistance and driving out evil spirits.reinforcing earth to generate metal is main method of strengthening body resistance and giving a way to evil is main method of driving out evil spirits.Pay attention to cold cough,also do not ignore the hot cough,treatment methods include cold and warm,often used in combination,with clear proportions and prominent points.(4)There are rich means for treating cough in Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang.In addition to taking the medicine internally,it also includes the guidance method,the smoke method,the nasal drip method,and the lower part method.Clearly proportioned and focused.
