Objective: Oral lichen planus(OLP)is a chronic autoimmune disease with a variety of clinical manifestations. The pathogenesis of OLP is unclear clear, and it is difficult to diagnose and treat. This study analyzed the expression of cytokines IL-6?IL-10 and IL-17 in oral lichen planus before and after treatment as well as normal people saliva to explor the correlation between OLP and cytokines and evaluate the mechanism and therapeutic effect of Huashi Xingyu Qingre decoction on oral lichen planus, and further confirmed the feasibility of using noninvasive saliva analysis to monitor and diagnose OLP.Photodynamic therapy was used to treat erosive oral lichen planus, and the clinical effect of photodynamic therapy on erosive OLP was observed.Methods:1.The contents of IL-6,IL-10 and IL-17 in saliva of 30 oral lichen planus patients and 30 healthy volunteers were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and their expression in saliva was analyzed.2.ELISA was used to test the changes of IL-6,IL-10 and IL-17 in saliva before and after the treatment of Huashi Xingyu Qingre decoction of OLP patients(30)with Huashi Xingyu Qingre decoction and clinical efficacy observation.3.The levels of cytokines IL-6,IL-10 and IL-17 in saliva of OLP patieents(30)and healthy volunteers(30)were detected by ELISA to further determine the feasibility of saliva as an alternative to blood for noninvasive OLP detection.4.Photodynamic therapy was used to treat 15 cases of erosion OLP and observe clinical effect.Results:1.The expression of IL-6,IL-17 and IL-10 in saliva of patients with oral lichen planus was taller than that of healthy controls(P < 0.05);2.The level of IL-6 in saliva of OLP patients after treatment with Huashi Xingyu Qingre decoction was lower than before treatment and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);after treatment, the level of IL-10 increased and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);after treatment, the level of IL-17 decreased but the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05);3.Noninvasive saliva analysis can be taken into account as a new method for the noninvasive diagnosis of oral lichen planus.4.The effective rate of photodynamic therapy for erosive oral lichen planus was 93.3%.Conclusions:1.The higher expression of IL-6,IL-10 and IL-17 in saliva of OLP patients than that of healthy people suggests that they may be related to the pathogenesis of OLP.2.After the treatment of Huashi Xingyu Qingre decoction,The expression level of IL-6 and IL-17 in the saliva of OLP patients is lower than that before the treatment, and the expression level of IL-10 is higher than that before the treatment, suggesting that Huashi Xingyu Qingre decoction may play a therapeutic effect by changing the expression of cytokines in saliva.3.Noninvasive saliva analysis may be a new method for the noninvasive diagnosis of OLP.4.Photodynamic therapy has a good clinical effect in the treatment of erosive OLP.
