Objective: The paper is to observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with celecoxib capsule on residual low back pain after percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF).Method: A total of 60 patients, who were diagnosed with OVCF and underwent PKP in the Orthopedics Department of Xiamen Hospital of TCM from January,2019 to December,2019,and suffered from postoperative recurrent lower back pain, were enrolled and randomly divided into the control group(n=30)and the experimental group(n=30).The control group were treated with oral celecoxib capsules, while the experimental group was treated with additional acupuncture(2 treatment courses *7 days /treatment course). The VAS scores and RDQ indexes of the two patient groups were compared before and after the treatments, and the therapeutic effects were evaluated in accordance with Evaluation Criteria for Orthopedic Clinical Efficacy. The data was analyzed with SPSS 25.0 software to obtain the experimental results.Results:1.Comparison of General Data: After the test, the comparison of the general information(gender, age, fracture segment, etc.)between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).2.Comparison of VAS Scores: The comparison of pre-treatment VAS scores between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05);the intergroup comparisons after 1 week and 2 weeks suggested that the VAS scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The intra-group comparison between pre-treatment and post-treatment performances indicated that the VAS scores after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Comparison of RDQ Indexes: The intergroup comparison of the RDQ indexes showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The intergroup comparison after 1-week treatment showed that the RDQ indexes of the experimental group were slightly higher than those of the control group, but there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).However,the intergroup comparison after 2 weeks showed that the RDQ indexes of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The intra-group comparison showed that the post-treatment RDQ indexes were significantly lower than the pre-treatment indexes in both groups(P<0.05).4.Comparison of Clinical Efficacy: The basic cure rates, the marketed effective rates, the effective rates and the ineffective rates were 23.3%,46.7%,26.7%,and 3.3% in the experimental group, and 10%,33.3%,46.7%,and 10% in the control group, respectively. The therapeutic effect was superior in the experimental group than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with celecoxib capsule can alleviate the symptom of residual low back pain after PKP in OVCF patients, improve their waist functional activity, and is superior to single celecoxib capsule treatment in the therapeutic effect.
