Objective To compare the safety and efficacy of transurethral resection of prostate(TURP)and transurethral plasma resection of prostate(PKRP)in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods According to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,73 BPH patients admitted to the urology department of Minda Hospital of Hubei Minzu University from July 2017 to December 2019 were retrospectively collected as the study subjects,38 BPH patients treated with TURP were included in the T group, and 35 BPH patients treated with PKRP were included in the P group.Compare two kinds of surgical operation time, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood pressure fluctuations, postoperative continuous bladder irrigation time, indwelling catheter time after operation, postoperative hospitalization days, early postoperative complications(Transurethral resection syndrome,Urinary incontinence,Urinary retention,Urethral stricture,Bladder irritation)and postoperative 3 months in patients with prostate symptom score(IPSS),quality of life score(QOL)and maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax). Results There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in postoperative length of hospitalization, duration of postoperative continuous bladder irrigation and duration of postoperative indwelling catheterization(P<0.05);The differences in intraoperative time, preoperative and postoperative Hemoglobin(Hb)difference, and preoperative and postoperative Na~+difference were statistically significant(P<0.05);The difference of intraoperative blood pressure fluctuation between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in early postoperative complications(P>0.05);Comparison of IPSS score,QOL score and Qmax group before and 3 months after surgery showed statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in IPSS score,QOL score and Qmax between groups 3 months after the operation(P>0.05).Conclusion 1.There was no significant difference in short-term treatment effect and early complications of PKRP and TURP;2.PKRP has advantages such as small intraoperative blood pressure fluctuation, less intraoperative blood loss and shorter intraoperative time, etc.,and is safer than TURP;3.Compared with TURP,PKRP has the advantages of fewer postoperative hospital stay days, shorter postoperative indwelling catheter duration, and shorter postoperative continuous bladder irrigation duration, which is more conducive to patients'postoperative recovery;4.PKRP is an ideal surgical method for the treatment of BPH and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
