Objective: To investigate the effect and role of nano-carbon on the tracing of cervical lymph nodes on the side of papillary thyroid carcinoma.Methods: A retrospective analysis of 516 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma underwent total thyroidectomy + central zone lymph node dissection + lymph node dissection in the affected lateral area.Nanocarbon was used to trace lymph nodes during the operation to explore the rule of lymph node metastasis in the affected lateral area.Results: In 436 patients with cN0,115 cases(26.3%)had black-stained lymph node metastasis,55 cases(12.6%)had non-black-stained lymph node metastasis in the lateral zone,and zones II,III,and IV(27.1%,22.4%,23.3%))The metastasis rate of black-stained lymph nodes is higher than that of non-black-stained lymph nodes(17.4%,12.6%,8.1%)(p <0.05).The rate of lymph node metastasis in zone ?affects lymph node metastasis in zone ? and zone ?(P < 0.05)Conclusion: The black-stained lymph nodes after the use of carbon nanoparticles are representative of the lymph nodes in the lateral area and help to guide the lymph node dissection.The black-stained lymph nodes in area ? can represent whether the lymph nodes in the lateral area have metastasis and have the potential role of sentinel lymph nodes in the lateral area.
