Diagnostic Value Of Golgi Protein 73 To Hepatocellular Carcinoma, A Meta-analysis

Objective Golgi protein 73(GP73)is upregulated in liver diseases,especially with liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).The value of GP73 in diagnosing HCC and differential diagnosing HCC from liver cirrhosis remain controversial.This study conduct a meta analysis to evaluate the value of GP73 in the diagnosis of HCC and differential diagnosis of HCC from liver cirrhosis.Methods 23 studies with a sample size of 5045 cases concerning the accuracy of GP73 in diagnosing HCC were selected through a systematic review.Three of these studies included a total of 223 HCC samples and 215 cirrhosis samples and calculated the sensitivity and specificity of GP73 differential diagnosing HCC from cirrhosis.QUADAS(quality assessment of diagnostic accuracy studies)was used to evaluate the quality of literatures.Statistical analysis were performed using MetaDiSc1.4 and StataMP14 software.Results The pooled sensitivity,specificity,positive likelihood ratio,negative likelihood ratio,diagnostic odds ratio and the area under the receiver operating characeristic curve were 0.73(95% CI,0.71-0.75),0.85(95% CI,0.83-0.86),4.51(95% CI,4.14-4.92),0.32(95% CI,0.29-0.34),12.68(95% CI,11.07-14.53),and 0.8514 for GP73 diagnosing HCC;0.76(95% CI,0.70-0.81),0.70(95% CI,0.64-0.76),2.40(95% CI,1.91-3.02),0.38(95% CI,0.30-0.49),6.20(95% CI,4.14-9.30),and 0.7622 for GP73 differential diagnosing HCC from liver cirrhosis.Conclusion The results suggest that GP73 has a moderate diagnostic value for HCC and also certain value for differential diagnosis of HCC from liver cirrhosis.
