| Objective:To understand the correlation between EBV DNA load in blood and clinical features of children with infectious mononucleosis. Methods:The clinical data of 487 children with infectious mononucleosis were collected and analyzed retrospectively.According to the results of EBV DNA load in blood, the patients were divided into two groups:group of high viral load(≥6.3×10~5 copies/ml)and group of low viral load(<6.3×10~5 copies/ml).And the clinical data were compared between the two groups, which include general information, clinical manifestations, laboratory indexes, acute complications and the correlation between the logarithm of EBV DNA load in blood and statistically significant clinical manifestations and laboratory indexes. Results:There was no significant difference in sex,age and course of disease between the two groups.Compared with the children in group of low viral load, higher occurrences of fever, open mouth breathing, headache, exudate upon tonsil, cervical lymph nodes enlargement, hepatosplenomegaly and moderate-severe hepatosplenomegaly, longer fever time, and higher level of the maximum diameter of cervical lymph node and subcoastal length of liver and spleen were found in the children in group of high viral load(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in other clinical manifestations. The level of WBC,RBC,LY,GR,AST and LDH in the high viral load group were higher than those in the group of low viral load(P<0.05).However,compared with the children in the low viral load group, lower level of PLT was found in the high viral load group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in other laboratory indexes.Acute complications of the blood system, anemia and neutropenia were more likely to occur in the low viral load group than in the group of high viral load(P<0.05),in addition, transient albuminuria and/or hematuria was more likely to occur in the high viral load group than in the low viral load group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in other acute complications. The logarithm of EBV DNA load in blood was found to be positively correlated with the total duration of fever, maximum diameter of cervical lymph nodes, subcoastal length of liver and spleen and level of WBC,RBC,LY,GR,AST and LDH,but negatively correlated with the level of PLT.Conclusion:There was a certain correlation between EBV DNA load in blood and clinical features of children with infectious mononucleosis. |
