objective To evaluate the effect of the quality of post-operative anesthetic resuscitation of patients with Entropy index monitoring assisted general anesthesia versus standard clinical practice. Methods The randomized controlled trials(RCTs)on the application of entropy index monitoring in general anesthesia were searched from Pub Med,Web of Science,EMbase,The Cochrane Library,CNKI,wanfang,VIP and other databases by computer.Date were collected from inception to January 2020.Two researchers independently screened the retrieved literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and used Cochrane's risk of bias assessment criteria to evaluate the quality of the literature. The evaluating indicators included respiratory recovery time, extubation time, consciousness recovery time, emergence agitation, nausea and vomiting, and intraoperative awareness. The Revman 5.3software was used for meta-analysis of the data. Results A total of 930 patients in 10 eligible RCTs wereidentified. The results showed that compared with the control group, the respiratory recovery time(MD=-2.47,95%CI :-4.07~-0.87,P=0.002),extubation time(MD=-3.83,95%CI :-5.05~-2.61,P<0.00001)and consciousness recovery time(MD=-7.52,95%CI :-10.42~-4.62,P<0.00001)in the entropy index group were significantly shortened. The incidence of emergence agitation(EA)in the entropy index group(RR=0.14,95%CI: 0.04-0.49,P=0.002)was decreased, with statistically significant difference. However, the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV)(RR=0.78,95%ci :0.44~1.37,P=0.38)and the incidence of intraoperative awareness(RR=0.33,95%ci :0.04~3.16,P=0.34)were not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion The application of entropy index can improve the recovery quality of patients under general anesthesia, not only shorten the postoperative recovery time of patients, but also reduce the occurrence of agitation in the recovery period, but it has no effect on the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting and intraoperative awareness.
