Study On The Effect Of Memory Foam Body Cushion In Preventing Pressure Injury During Lateral Position Surgery

Objective:This study intends to explore the impact of the use of memory foam body cushions in lateral recumbent position surgery on the pressure of the patient's compression site and the incidence of intraoperative pressure injury,and to find new methods and new ideas for the prevention of pressure injury in the operating room.Methods:In this study,a randomized controlled experimental research method was used to select 94 patients who met the inclusion criteria in a top three hospital in Nanchang,and 47 patients in each of the experimental group and the control group.During the operation,the patients in the control group used gel position pads and the patients in the experimental group used memory sponge position pads.The rest of the conventional nursing measures for preventing intraoperative pressure injuries remained unchanged.After the patient is anesthetized,the pressure sensing system is used to monitor and record in real time the pressure,the average pressure of the main pressure parts of the two groups of patients,and the contact area between the patient's body and the surface of the operating bed.Immediately after the operation,the patient's skin condition at the site of compression was evaluated immediately,and the skin changes were continuously tracked to 72 hours after the operation.After the patient was conscious and normal,the patient's physical comfort due to the lateral lying posture was investigated.Results:A total of 94 patients with lateral recumbent surgery were collected in this study.(1)There was no statistical difference between the general demographic data and biochemical examination indexes of the two groups of surgical patients(P>0.05);(2)There was no intraoperative pressure injury in the experimental group after the operation,and the incidence of intraoperative pressure injury in the control group was 12.8%,there was a difference between the two groups(P<0.05);there was a difference between the two groups in the symptoms of shoulder neck pain,waist pain,limb numbness(P<0.05);(3)After placement in the lateral supine position,the pressure in the shoulder(59.64±20.93mmHg),iliac spine(78.87±25.29mmHg)and average pressure(23.13±3.84mmHg)in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group(83.87±36.11mmHg),the pressure at the iliac spine(134.43±39.02 mmHg)and the average pressure(27.89±6.47mmHg),the contact surface of the experimental group(2374.28±438.07cm~2)is larger than the contact surface of the control group(2107.77±366.38cm~2),the difference is statistically significant;during the period from the beginning of the operation to the end of the operation,the pressure and average pressure of the shoulder and iliac spine of the experimental group continued to be lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);(4)After anesthesia,the patients of the experimental group lay flat The average pressure(19.26±3.28mmHg)was significantly lower than the average pressure(23.13±3.843mmHg)when placed in the lateral position(P<0.001),but there was no statistics on the contact area between the body and the surgical bed surface in different positions of the two groups of patients.(5)After the operation started,there were temporal changes in the pressure,average pressure and contact area of the head,temporal,shoulder,axillary,iliac spine,medial condyle,lateral condyle,and lateral malleolus of the two groups of patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:The memory sponge position cushion can effectively reduce the incidence of pressure injury during lateral decubitus surgery,and reduce the symptoms of neck and shoulder pain,lumbar muscle pain,and limb numbness in postoperative patients.For gel body cushions,the use of memory foam body cushions can increase the contact area with the operating bed interface,disperse the surface pressure of the body,and reduce the pressure on the key pressure parts.In terms of nursing intervention,the memory sponge position cushion as an effective support surface provides new methods and new ideas for the prevention of pressure injury in the operating room.At the same time,the prevention of pressure injury by the operation position cushion also needs further research.
