The Study Of Lu Ang's Opera Directing Art

Lu Ang is a famous drama director who currently active in the front line.As a drama director,he directed a number of opera works,and won the national stage awards several times,and also be honored as the "two holds" director of the drama and opera.When in the stage practice,he also teaches drama direction and writes books.Lu is a kind of "scholar-type"director.In opera directing practice,he made integration of the Eastern and Western drama forms,and combination of the classical opera charm and modern aesthetic.He insisted on the principle of "develop without changing tradition" in creating opera works.While carrying forward the aesthetic spirit and inner charm of classical opera,he pursed the modernity of opera,excavated the time spirit and value of the times from the opera,and modernized the works.Director Lu has made fruitful explorations in present creations of stage opera,especially the creations of rehearsal about new historical opera and modern Chinese opera,which made a beneficial contribution to the modernization process of the Chinese traditional opera.This article studies the theoretical writing and related works of director Lu,and selects some representative and directing-style mature opera works as objects,then discusses the explorations and changes made by him as a drama director in terms of the current Chinese opera and stage.Besides,this article makes some thoughts on the modern exploration and stage practice of the opera,which reflects the current creation of ecological about the traditional opera stage.In the first chapter,through combing and summarizing the works of the opera theory and director's statements of Lu Ang,the thesis discusses the influences on traditional opera aesthetics about opera works directed by director Lu combining his stage works.The results show that for the opera his works highlight the substance and freehand,strengthen the dance drama and lyricism,and highlight the mainland and folk.The second chapter summarizes and evaluates that director Lu conducted some modern innovations for the traditional opera on the basis of inheritance,which is mainly embodied in the modern stage aesthetic imagery in his works,the bold use about stage technology means,and the use of a variety of artistic techniques in stage direction.The third chapter describes the transformation for the opera theatre space,the exploration the relationship between audience and actors,and the conception of "spaced but not isolated" made by director Lu.The fourth chapter reviews the achievements and shortcomings of Lu Ang's opera director performance.
