The Study On The Mask Dance Chigezhou Of Wenxian County Baima Tibetan People In Gansu

Tibetan Baima people in Gansu,Wenxian County who lived in a special geographical environment where the mountains are deep,frequent natural disasters happen frequently,and economy as well as culture are relatively backward.Due to the region environment and the unique belief,the Baima Tibetan people special mask dance-"Chigezhou" and diverse forms of the ethnic songs and dances were emerged.Every year from 15 th to 17 th of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar is the biggest festival of Baima Tibetan people.Along with the development and progress of human society,these abundant folk songs and dances forms during festivals gradually evolved from the gods amusing function into people entertainment function.This enduring ceremony is an important part of Baima Tibetan people folk culture,which covers Baima Tibetan people’s unique culture and religious belief customs.This paper mainly focus on the traditional mask dance-"Chigezhou" of Baima Tibetan people ’s folk activities in Gansu,Wenxian County as the research object.Through the field investigation of mask dance-"Chigezhou" in detail,from the view of ontology of dance,make further the analysis on the cultural background,forms,cultural connotation and aesthetic features of mask dance-"Chigezhou",and put forward feasible suggestions for protecting and developing the folk dance forms.
