Dandang's Life And Literary Studies

The object of this research is Dandang.a monk lived in Mount Jizu of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.This paper is divided into four parts,namely,Dandang's life,Articles and Poems,The ancient song and Antithetical couplet.The first part focuses on two issues:one is The monastic age of Dandang,about which there always have different arguments.Through trace historical sources,study Yunnan local chronicles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties about Dandang's life,finally confirm that the year Dandang became a monk is Chongzhen fifteen years(1642).;and the other is The Buddhist teacher of Dandang.Besides,the reason why Dandang became a monk is also involved in this article.As for the Buddhist teacher of Dandang,this article mainly discussed the relationship between Dandang and two masters,one is Zhanran Yuancheng,the master of Cao Dongzong Zen,and the other is Dong Qichang,the painting master.The second part.research of Dandang's Poems and Articles,used the method of close reading,through the overall care of Dandang's literary theory and poetry,the paper analyzed his Poetic ideas,Poetic allusions and artistic conception of Zen poems.The third part is the research of Dandang's ancient song of 100 Sayings of Nian hua,As for "Eternal Smile of Buddha",Dandang has two attitudes,in view of this point,the paper discussed the reason why Dandang praised and explicated the meaning of Zen Buddhism"from heart to heart"between Sakyamuni and Mahakasyapa and revealed the realistic character of Dandang's ancient song.The fourth part is the study of Antithetical couplet of Dandang.With the help of a number of Monographs designed to study Zen koan,this paper revealed the color of Zen doctrine through which Dandang Used Zen koan to express the General Buddhist theory.
