Based on former researches of animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty,this dissertation has found several points to improve,which are: 1.Main focus of former researches is Fu of animals instead of animal images.2.The range of animal images being included is comparatively limited,mostly crows,parrots and the like.3.Special studies of Han Dynasty are not sufficient.Researches are fragmented in a rather long historical era,like Han and Wei Dynasty,Pre-Tang Dynasty and so forth.4.Researches specialized in animal images in poetry in Han Dynasty are limited in amount.According to the points above,this dissertation has firstly defined the concept of animal images,then produced a table of qualified animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty through relative researches and collections.From the table,it could be evident that both the amount and range of animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty are massive.Among them,the most significant ones are horses,dragons,phoenixes,wild geese/swans and tigers.On this basis,this dissertation has firstly analyzed the unique form of ‘image group' in Fu in Han Dynasty,demonstrating its origin,distribution features and effects.And next,the dissertation has integrated the five significant animal images,comprehensively analyzing the features of animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty,which represent as follows:1.More content of monarchical powers.For this part this dissertation has demonstrated the differences of methods used for expressing the state of monarch of different animal images in detail,as well as thedifferent specific symbolic meanings and their original forming process.Moreover,the dissertation has investigated the effects of social,political and cultural factors on the forming of this feature.2.A closer connection of the implication of talents.The dissertation has demonstrated the difference of implications that has been expressed by the four animal images that are metaphorized as talents at length,as well as the origin of the difference from the aspects of literature inheritance,mindset of the writers and political system.3.A weakening of wildness of animals.The dissertation chooses horses and dragons as typical examples,investigating the text representation of the weakening trend of wildness,which mainly shows as the tightening grip of animals by human.The origin and effects of it have also been discussed.4.An enhancement of livelihood.This dissertation analyzes from the aspects of changes in implications of the images of legendary animals in mystical excursions as well as images of domestic animals,and has investigated their text representations and origins.In addition,the dissertation has investigated and analyzed the images of tigers,dragons,individual birds and solitary animals,therefore proved the tendency of aesthetics in Han Dynasty,which is the adoration of vigour and admiration of tragedy.Through investigation of the questions mentioned above,features of animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty as well as the tendency of aesthetics could both be evident,which is the concern and exploration of the topic of human in essence.It has been shown that during the Han Dynasty,the existence of ego had been realized as the time went by,thus bringing series ofexploration of the value of its existence.Moreover,the changes of implications of animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty also represent their liberalization.With continuous pieces of related poetry and Fu,those images provide a massive amount of materials for later generations for literature and writing.Thus,the empathy contained among animal images gradually becomes one of the main topics in literature through ages.This dissertation has analyzed the researches of animal images in poetry and Fu in Han Dynasty in detail and in depth,hoping to provide answers for a part of the questions existing in current researches.
