From the perspective of social representation theory,this study examines teenagers' understanding of Chu culture.The study was divided into three parts.Study 1 used the focus group interview method to obtain the content information of the social representation of Chu culture.A total of 110 subjects in two age groups discussed and obtained a total of 413 words that were impressed by Chu culture.20 items were obtained through analysis and coding.On the basis of the results of the study 1,The study prepared a questionnaire on the social representations of young people in the Chu culture to understand the structure of the Chu culture.Predicted questionnaires have been revised to retain 18 items,followed by a total of 500 youths to formally perform tests to understand the status of youth social representations of Chu culture.Study 3 analyzes the relationship between the social representation of Chu culture and national identity.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: 1.Young people's social representation of Chu culture is a multidimensional model."Historical culture"," technological culture," "literary culture," and "consuetudinary culture" constitute the structure of Social representations of Chu culture.2.Teenagers comprehendingly evaluate the level of social representation of Chu culture.3.There are significant differences in grades of young people's social representation of Chu culture in all dimensions and total questionnaires,and the junior high school group is lower than the senior high school group;gender factors are significant in the dimensions of “Historical culture”,“Technological culture” and “literary culture”.There is no difference in the “institutional culture”.The overall evaluation of boys is higher than that of girls.There are significant differences in the four dimensions of the social representation of the Chu culture in the place of origin.The young people in the urban registered permanent residence have a significantly higher evaluation of the social representation of the Chu culture than the young people in the rural registered permanent residence;the parental education level is four of the social representations of the Chu culture.The influence on dimensions only affects the popular culture and has no influence on other factors.Besides the difference in the family economic situation,there are significant differences among the other three factors.The better the family economic situation,the more positive the teenagers' understanding of the Chu culture is.4.The social representation of Chu culture is positively related to the national identity.The four dimensions of social representation are significantly related to the two dimensions of national identity.The social representation of Chu culture can explain the 51.9% variation of national identity.The teenagers' knowledge of Chu culture can predict the changes in national identity.
